The junk food media is now covering the disappearance of a woman who criss-crossed the nation with her fiance who is a person of interest.

Here we go again!

We have Missing White Woman Syndrome. It's a real coined term to media coverage of missing white women who get nonstop coverage. You know more about this person than the thousands of people missing everyday.

Missing white woman syndrome has led to a number of tough on crime measures, mainly on the right, that were named for white women who disappeared and were subsequently found harmed. In addition to race and class, factors such as supposed attractiveness, body size and youthfulness function as unfair criteria in the determination of newsworthiness in coverage of missing women. News coverage of missing black women were more likely to focus on the victim's problems, such as abusive boyfriends or a troubled past, while coverage of white women often tend to focus on their roles as mothers or daughters.

And like always, we hope this woman is found safely.

Okay, a social media star named Gabby Petito is missing. The woman who has a YouTube and Instagram page has went missing in late August. The cross-country trip was started with her fiance Brian Laundrie ended with him being the only person returning. Now the family and the feds are now wondering what happened between Petito and Laundrie?

The couple originally lived in New York on Long Island but moved to Florida. They two set out on a dream trip from New York in her Ford Transit van and hoping to reach a friend in Oregon.

Her family have not heard from her since receiving text messages towards the end of the month. They believe some of the texts were not written by her and believe there's foul play.

Nicole Schmidt, Petito's mother contacted police and launched a missing person's investigation and soon the junk food media started covering it.

Petito has her YouTube page and Instagram page are active. The videos have increased in viewership.

In August, they were seen arguing in Moab City, Utah. The two had a police pullover and the pair were in experiencing a "mental health crisis." The two had fought and Laundrie locked her out the van. Petito tried to get into the vehicle and started serving him a knuckle style chili.

The state authorities found the bodies of Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner in a campsite near Moab City. The women told campers that some "creeper dude" had been near theri campsite. No suspects are found in their murders.

Petito and Laundrie were checking out of a hotel in Salt Lake City. After departure, Petito did a video call with Schmidt. That was the final visual contact.

A woman named Miranda Baker said on TikTok, she and her boyfriend picked up Laundrie who was hitchhiking by himself near Grand Teton in Wyoming. They took him to the van and he decided to return to Florida without Petito.

Schmidt contacted Laundrie's family and asked if they seen Gabby. The family couldn't get answers from him and that's what led to the investigation. Laundrie hired an attorney and has remained out of the spotlight.

Joe Petito and Nicole Schmidt finally call out Laundrie and demand he tells the public where their daughter is. They head to Fox to berate the Laundrie family and ask the junk food media to find Gabby.

The FBI and Wyoming State Authorities now search Grand Teton. Laundrie is a person of interest.

He is not staying at the home.

So you know more about her than you would know about Austin Bennett Tice, Lori Ann Boffman, Jonathan Fraser, Lashaya Stine, Sarah Burton, Cayce Lynn McDaniel, Abby Lynn Patterson, Shanna Genelle Peoples, Dulce Maria Alavez, Mary Johnson (nee Davis), Dawnita Wilkerson, Maleina Luhk, Faloma Luhk, Amber Aiaz, and the thousands of missing people who never get media coverage.

You can see their faces as well as Petito on the FBI's website. Also you can tell that the junk food media obsession with missing white women is problematic. I believe due to the fact this woman is coming from a background where there's no criminal history, she's attractive, she's blonde, she is white, her story comes off like a television  movie or motion picture and that equals the ingredients for a non-stop media obsession.
