The New York governor has a criminal probe into allegations of sexual harassment. The Albany District Attorney David Soares has announced on Tuesday that he'd asked Letitia James, the New York State Attorney General for all the materials behind the report.

The governor could face criminal charges for the allegations. The state legislators could impeach him.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo denies wrongdoing and is not resigning. He is also looking for a fourth term. New York has no term limits for governor.

"Governor Cuomo must resign. The Attorney General's report leaves no room for any other acceptable course. It confirms that federal and state laws were broken. 11 women is 11 too many," said New York state senator Liz Krueger, one of the senior Democrats who supports the New York state assembly's impeachment threat.

James did not weigh any criminal charges against Cuomo but the Albany district attorney Soares has launched an investigation and is asking other women to come forward.

Letitia James said that she believes the 11 women.

"We will be formally requesting investigative materials obtained by the AG's Office and we welcome any victim to contact our office with additional information. As this matter is developing and we are reviewing the document released by the AG today, we will refrain from any additional public comment at this time regarding the status of the outgoing criminal investigation by our office," Soares tweeted. 

Outgoing New York mayor and Cuomo critic Bill de Blasio said that Cuomo must resign.

"It is beyond clear that Andrew Cuomo is not fit to hold office and can no longer serve as Governor. He must resign, and if he continues to resist and attack the investigators who did their jobs, he should be impeached immediately."

Cuomo again denies wrong doing but welcomes the investigation. He said that he is a "warm" person who sometimes "slips" and calls women who work for him "sweetheart and darling," but insists he has never been a sexual predator.

President Joe Biden has formally supported that notion that Cuomo should resign if the allegations are proven to be true.
