Louisiana congressman who beaten Bernie Sanders-back opponent backs Shontel Brown in a closely watch special election in Ohio.

Shontel Brown racks up endorsmeents.

Only weeks ago, Rep. Troy Carter (D-LA) was sworn in to replace White House advisor Cedric Richmond. He took on Karen Carter Peterson, a perennial candidate endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) and Stacey Abrams.

The special election in Louisiana is a jungle primary. It doesn't matter who's on the ballot, the two with the most vote will appear on the ballot. The Republicans backed Jamaican-American decathlete Claston Bernard for the nomination. He finished fourth in the primary.

Gary Chambers, Jr., a Black activist and perennial candidate backed by leftists and washed up entertainer Marianne Williamson finished in a distance third.

So the race focused on the former Louisiana state senator Troy Carter and state senator Karen Carter Peterson. Peterson who constantly fought for representing the seat back when William Jefferson was in it couldn't muster enough backing from Democrats.

Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH), Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) helped Carter become the newest U.S. Representative. Their endorsements mattered. It helped generate more fundraising and gave Carter more momentum going into the general.

It appears the Congressional Black Caucus is pulling big moves.

Carter endorses Shontel Brown over Nina Turner. He became the second lawmaker to formally endorse Brown for Congress. The other is Beatty, a lawmaker who represents Columbus, Ohio and chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Turner, a former Ohio state senator, 2014 nominee for Ohio Secretary of State, the former chair of Our Revolution and former campaign advisor to Sanders' presidential campaign in 2016 and 2020 got another blow. Turner is backed by Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, Porter, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Charlamagne Tha Rapist, Karen Knight, Karen Shaun King and Karen Halper.

Last week, former 2016 Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton endorsed Brown for Congress. This was the biggest endorsement yet.

The former first lady's endorsement triggered the leftists to attack.

Turner's insufferable army of online trolls began a coordinated campaign to smear Brown as a "pay for play" lawmaker, a transphobe and a puppet for the Democratic National Committee.

Brown, the chairwoman of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party and council ward for the county has little name recognition. She hasn't gotten much junk food media, however she's building a coalition of local leaders and clergy from Cleveland and Akron. She is also raising more campaign funds now that Clinton, Beatty and Carter endorsed her bid.

Now the most crucial endorsements will be coming soon. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge hasn't endorsed any of the candidates in the special election. Her endorsement will seal the deal.

Rep. Jim Clyburn's (D-SC) will be the gift that keeps on giving. When Clyburn endorsed Joe Biden for president, it threw his struggling campaign back into high gear. He would end up blowing out Sanders in the South Carolina Democratic Primary and end up sweeping the South. He would end up becoming the Democratic nominee, pick then senator Kamala Harris as his running mate and win the 2020 presidential election.

President Joe Biden has not endorsed a candidate yet, but I can tell you that Turner's remarks about voting for Biden being a "half a bowl of shit" will not help her much. Matter of fact, her campaign is being hammered for being too white.

Many of Turner's supporters are white, out of state and pretty much out of touch with Ohio's 11th Congressional District.

Bad optics. The Nina Turner campaign van.

Turner is still running on platforms like Medicare for All, free college and tuition and taxing billionaires. She claims that she has one internal poll sponsored by her campaign stating she's ahead of the competition. She is one of eight candidates running for the seat.

She wants us to believe that she is an "Obama-style Democrat."

Just last year, she changed her residency to Maryland. She endorsed Jill Stein for president in 2016. Turner embraced Wikileaks, a foreign operation that used Russian leaked documents to paint Clinton and the Democratic Party in a negative light. It helped Washed Up 45 carry Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Turner had burnt bridges in Cleveland.

She lost to a goofy ass Republican in a landslide. Bill and Hillary Clinton as well as Joe Biden endorsed her candidacy for Ohio Secretary of State.

Turner is not concerned about food deserts, blight, bringing business and life to the Opportunity Corridor, ending the "Dead Man's Curve" (Interstate 90 at Ohio State Route 2), Interstate 90 at 71 and 490, improving the RTA Waterfront transit line, bringing jobs back to Cleveland, fixing the Ohio State Route 8 viaduct (Future Interstate 380), reforesting Akron west and repairing Interstate 76 and 77.

Infrastructure, food deserts and blight are some of the most important things going on in Ohio's 11th Congressional District.
