The Democrats are feuding with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) over her stances with the nation of Israel.
Like I've said multiple times, the usual tactics of deflection is to toss baseless accusations against critics of the state. The Republicans and Democrats continue to equate Israel with the Jewish faith.
Again, Israel is not a Jewish state. It is a secular state and no official religion. Although 84% of the nation's residents are practicing Jews, there is no state religion.
The criticism of Israel's treatment towards the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip have activists calling for the country to be held accountable for war crimes. The state of Israel is an apartheid.
That is a fact.
But the United States and six member nations refuse to condemn the state. After all in the minds of Americans, "Israel has the right to defend itself and the right to exist."
Again, Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) are scapegoated for everything in relation to Israel.
No one seems to attack Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY), Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN) or Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) for speaking out against the atrocities committed by Israel.
It's always the Black woman and Brown woman who are Muslims.
Whenever they criticize the country, the Democrats and Republicans are quick to call them anti-Semitic. In turn, they're showing how they're Islamophobic and overly wrong in attacking them for having an opinion about injustices done towards the Palestinians.
Omar had equated the U.S., Israel with the Gaza Strip's Hamas. The actions of these three have led to numerous deaths and destruction in the region. Yet anytime we speak out against injustices, the far-right and some moderates want to silence their voices.

Omar during a CNN interview Tuesday, claiming that her fellow Democrats in particular the ones who wrote that letter aimed at her “haven’t been partners in justice.”
During Omar’s appearance on “The Lead,” host Jake Tapper cited some of the congresswoman’s statements that have led to accusations that she is anti-Semitic. Tapper specifically cited a February 2019 tweet that stated the alliance between the US and Israel is “all about the Benjamins” and a 2012 message in which she claimed that Israel “has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel”.
“Do you understand why some of your fellow House Democrats, especially Jews, find that language anti-Semitic?” Tapper asked.
“I’ve welcomed, you know, anytime my colleagues have asked to have a conversation, to learn from them, for them to learn from me,” Omar responded. “I think it’s really important for these members to realize that they haven’t been partners in justice. They haven’t been, you know, equally engaging in seeking justice around the world.
“And I think, you know, I will continue to do that,” she added. “It is important for me, as someone who knows what it feels like to experience injustice in ways that many of my colleagues don’t, to be a voice in finding accountability, asking for mechanisms for justice for those who are maligned, oppressed, and who have had injustice done to them.”
Omar did not mention any names in her answer. However, earlier this month she blasted a group of Jewish House Democrats who pushed back on her claim that the US, Israel, Hamas and the Taliban had all committed “unthinkable atrocities.”
In a statement released by Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL.), Omar was urged to “clarify her words placing the US and Israel in the same category as Hamas and the Taliban.”
“The United States and Israel are imperfect and, like all democracies, at times deserving of critique, but false equivalencies give cover to terrorist groups,” concluded the statement, which was co-signed by Reps. Jake Auchincloss of Massachusetts, Ted Deutch of Florida, Lois Frankel of Florida, Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, Elaine Luria of Virginia, Kathy Manning of North Carolina, Jerrold Nadler of New York, Dean Phillips of Minnesota, Kim Schrier of Washington, Brad Sherman of California and Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida.
Omar accused her colleagues of trafficking in “[I]slamophobic tropes,” as well as “constant harassment & silencing.”
House Republicans called on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA.), to remove Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee over her comments, and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has vowed to strip Omar of that assignment if Republicans take the House of Representatives in next year’s midterm election.
The money man is now in the crosshairs of the state and feds.

The state of New York seeks to dissolve and bring criminal charges against The Trump Organization.
The state has announced they are criminally charging Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg with criminal tax-related crimes.
The 73-year old worked for Washed Up 45 and his father Fred Trump in the 1970s. He will arraigned in district court on Thursday.
His charges include failure to pay taxes, failure to disclosure transactions and wire fraud.
It's not clear what Weisselberg is going to face but experts believe its going to be grand larceny, scheme to defraud and tax fraud.
If convicted, Weisselberg could face up to 15 years in the iron college. His failure to cooperate with the state prosecutors had led to the state deciding to pull an indictment. He continues to remain loyal to the former president despite the possibility of facing years in the iron college.
The state was hoping to get the embattle accountant to "flip" on the company but alas, they couldn't.
The former president while in Texas doing a photo-op with its governor Karen Abbott claims that the whole thing is a witch hunt and the organization is "in now way [involved in] a crime."
This could lead to the Trump Organization being dissolved.
The state of New York is looking into how Stormy Daniels got the money to keep her quiet. Well the former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen clearly stated that Washed Up 45 ordered him and Weisselberg to pay out the adult entertainer/activist to keep the spotlight off his sagging poll numbers.
Washed Up 45 had asked Cohen to pay adult film actress Stormy Daniels in the weeks before the 2016 election, to keep her from talking publicly about an affair she says she had with Trump. In July 2018 Weisselberg was subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury regarding the Cohen investigation. Weisselberg was granted limited witness immunity for his testimony.
New York County District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. is also investigating Weisselberg. When the federal investigation by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York "effectively concluded" in July 2019, Vance issued new subpoenas in connection with the hush-money payments. Weisselberg's federal immunity does not extend to state investigations.
Vance stepped up his state criminal investigation in February 2021, after the Supreme Court authorized Trump's accountants to turn over Trump's personal and business tax records to him.
The New York Times reported that investigators had also asked at least one witness about Weisselberg’s sons — Barry, who had managed Wollman Rink, and Jack, who works at Ladder Capital, a Trump Organization lender. By March 2021, prosecutors were examining financial records of Weisselberg and his family members. His former daughter in law Jen Weisselberg who was married to Barry Weisselberg from 2004 until 2018, released to the Manhattan DA numerous documents that revealed how some Trump employees received compensation in real estate and other items.
CNN reported in May 2021 that the New York State attorney general had opened a criminal tax investigation into Weisselberg months earlier. The investigation was pursued by the Manhattan district attorney's office. During June a grand jury heard evidence against him.
The sons, Karen J. Trump, Jr. and Karen Trump run the company. The two have been called into question over how they ran the organization. They may have pressured Weisselberg to keep quiet.
They are being told to prepare for subpoena and possible criminal charges as well.
The suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The controversial Defense Secretary under George W. Bush led American troops to death and destruction.
A man who was considered a "war hawk" due to his obsession with the "Fight on Terror." A man who left the mess of two wars in the hands of Barack Obama, Washed Up 45 and Joe Biden.
Now as Biden is withdrawing troops from Afghanistan upholding Washed Up 45's deal with the Taliban, the news of Donald Rumsfeld's death comes.
Rumsfeld served as Secretary of Defense for George W. Bush and Gerald Ford and was central to the plans involving the invasion in Afghanistan and later Iraq.
He passed away at the age of 88 in Taos, New Mexico.

Bush selected Rumsfeld for his second stint as Pentagon chief in 2001. Rumsfeld vowed to shake up the military bureaucracy, seeking to make it leaner and more agile.
September 11, 2001 became the test of Bush and Rumsfeld. The attack killed over 2,994 Americans.
Rumsfeld promised revenge against those who funded and inspired the attack. Bush ordered Rumsfeld to attack the al-Qaeda's home bases in Afghanistan. Within weeks, U.S. military and NATO troops went into the longest war in American history. They managed to topple the Taliban and force al-Qaeda's spokesman and chief financier Osama bin Laden into Pakistan.
Rumsfeld and then vice president Dick Cheney decided to settle an old score. They gave Bush the false information about Saddam Hussein, a dictator to the Iraqi government being involved in the attack on American soil.
Bush pushed us into the War in Iraq which led to some of the most brutal moments in American military. Cheered on by Republicans, Fox and white nationalists, we were led into the bullshit about "us versus them." We became more embolden to the lies and misinformation from Fox, the Israeli government and American government.
The profiling of Muslims became a theme of Republicans. Scapegoating Muslims is still a common theme here. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) as well as then lawmaker turned Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison were scapegoated as "anti-Semitic" because they criticized the American and Israeli government and compared the brutal treatments of prisoners of war as inhumane. Some believe the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria are mounting towards Holocaust numbers.
Then of course, the Guantanamo Bay military prison in Cuba became another theme of Rumsfeld.
The Bush Administration was putting people in the American base prison without due process. Bush and Rumsfeld held them as "enemy combatants" and to this day we're still having over 80 people still there without a court trial on American soil.
Bush was successful in leading American troops into finding Hussein in a safe house. The former dictator was ousted when the U.S. and Iraqi opposition forces did a coup against Hussein.
Hussein was convicted and executed by the state.
The war in Iraq led to the rise of the Islamic State. Previously known as the al-Qaeda in Iraq, the leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi led a force against the American military. He would be one of the most ruthless.
The American troops were injured or killed by roadside bombs and improvised exploding devices. He did not give two fucks about troops. All he wanted to do is get rich and leave men dying.
Rumsfeld was fired out the cannon in 2006 and went back to the private life. He managed to continue on his quest to making his legacy a war criminal known.
Bush, Cheney and some former members of the Bush Administration offered their condolences to the family.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned the ten year sentence for disgraced entertainer Bill Cosby. The washed up actor was released on a procedural protocol that required the state to not to criminal charge Cosby after a settled score. It appears that he paid the accuser over $5.3 million in a lawsuit.
Cosby, 83, has served nearly three years of a three- to 10-year sentence after being found guilty of drugging and violating Temple University sports administrator Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004. He was the first celebrity tried and convicted in the #MeToo era.
The former “Cosby Show” star was arrested in 2015, when a district attorney armed with newly unsealed evidence — the comic’s damaging deposition in a lawsuit brought by Constand — brought charges against him days before the 12-year statute of limitations ran out.
But the Pennsylvania Supreme Court said that District Attorney Kevin Steele, who made the decision to arrest Cosby, was obligated to stand by his predecessor’s promise not to charge Cosby. There was no evidence that promise was ever put in writing.
Justice David Wecht, writing for a split court, said Cosby had relied on the former district attorney’s decision not to charge him when the comedian gave his potentially incriminating testimony in Constand’s civil case.
The court called Cosby’s arrest “an affront to fundamental fairness, particularly when it results in a criminal prosecution that was forgone for more than a decade.”
The justices said that overturning the conviction, and barring any further prosecution, “is the only remedy that comports with society’s reasonable expectations of its elected prosecutors and our criminal justice system.”
As Cosby was set free from the iron college in suburban Montgomery County, his appeals lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, said Cosby “should never have been prosecuted for these offenses.”
“District attorneys can’t change it up simply because of their political motivation.,” she said, adding Cosby remains in excellent health, apart from being legally blind.
In a statement, Steele said Cosby went free “on a procedural issue that is irrelevant to the facts of the crime.” He commended Constand for coming forward and added: “My hope is that this decision will not dampen the reporting of sexual assaults by victims. ... We still believe that no one is above the law — including those who are rich, famous and powerful.”
Constand and her lawyer did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

“I am furious to hear this news,” actor Amber Tamblyn, a founder of Time’s Up, an advocacy group for victims of sexual assault, said in a Twitter post. “I personally know women who this man drugged and raped while unconscious. Shame on the court and this decision.”
Four judges formed the majority that ruled in Cosby’s favor, while three others dissented in whole or in part.
Cosby got out on a technicality.
Peter Goldberger, a suburban Philadelphia lawyer with an expertise in criminal appeals, said prosecutors could ask the Pennsylvania Supreme Court for reargument or reconsideration, but it would be a very long shot.
“I can’t imagine that with such a lengthy opinion, with a thoughtful concurring opinion and a thoughtful dissenting opinion, that you could honestly say they made a simple mistake that would change their minds if they point it out to them,” Goldberger said.
Even though Cosby was charged only with the assault on Constand, the trial judge allowed five other accusers to testify that they, too, were similarly victimized by Cosby in the 1980s. Prosecutors called them as witnesses to establish what they said was a pattern of criminal behavior on Cosby’s part.
Cosby’s lawyers had argued on appeal that the use of the five additional accusers was improper.
The Pennsylvania high court did not weigh in on the question, saying it was moot given its finding that Cosby should not have been prosecuted in the first place.
In New York, the judge presiding over last year’s trial of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, whose case had sparked the explosion of the #MeToo movement in 2017, let four other accusers testify. Weinstein was convicted and sentenced to 23 years in the iron college. He is now facing separate charges in California.
In May, Cosby was denied parole after refusing to participate in sex offender programs behind bars. He has long said he would resist the treatment programs and refuse to acknowledge wrongdoing even if it means serving the full 10-year sentence.
Prosecutors said Cosby repeatedly used his fame and “family man” persona to manipulate young women, holding himself out as a mentor before betraying them.
Cosby, a groundbreaking Black actor who grew up in public housing in Philadelphia, made a fortune estimated at $400 million during his 50 years in the entertainment industry that included the TV shows “I Spy,” “The Cosby Show” and “Fat Albert,” along with comedy albums and a multitude of television commercials.
In the deposition that spelled Cosby’s downfall, the comedian said under oath that he used to offer Quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with. Cosby eventually settled with Constand for $3.4 million.
Portions of the deposition later became public at the request of The Associated Press, opening the floodgates on accusations from other women, more than 60 of whom came forward to say Cosby violated them.
The AP does not typically identify sexual assault victims without their permission, which Constand has granted.

Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) has backed Shontel Brown over former Ohio state senator and leftist agitator Nina Turner in the race to replace Marcia Fudge. Fudge left her congressional seat to join President Joe Biden as the Housing and Urban Development Secretary.
Clyburn's endorsement of Brown deflates Turner.
The New York Times was first to report on this. Turner, a top ally of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) during his twice ran presidential campaign was a controversial figure right off the bat. Her remarks about President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have only made things worse.
Shontel Brown is gaining more momentum.
She had said that voting for Biden is like eating "half a bowl of shit! It's still shit."
Turner is in a crowded field of 13 for this race touted the one poll from Sanders-backed Tulchin Elections claiming she's got the advantage against Cuyahoga County councilwoman Shontel Brown.
Brown is a protege of Fudge and is considered the underdog in this race. She hasn't got much television, radio and internet recognition but she is building an on the ground coalition that could bring a huge upset against Turner.

The child actor from Disney's sitcom That's So Raven and Cory in the House is being charged with sharing inappropriate material with a 13-year old girl.
What the hell is going on with these Disney and Nickelodeon child stars?

This sexual predator portrayed Cory, the little brother in the Raven-Symone's sitcom. He and Rondell Sheridan were granted a spin-off Cory in the House where they travel to Washington, DC to be staff for the White House.
He is being charged with one count of immoral communications with a minor.
This is a Class IV felony which could carry up to five years in the iron college.
The felony charge handed to the washed up actor was in King County, Washington. The entertainer was sued in 2019 after he sent explicit photos, texts and videos to a 13-year old girl. The lawsuit was for intentional infliction of seducing a minor, attempting to commit a lewd act with a minor and annoying or molesting a minor.
In the lawsuit, the sexual predator met the victim when she was four-years old. She kept in touch with him because he was famous and she wanted to get into the business. The sexual predator got close to the family and indicated she should move with him and his girlfriend.
The sexual predator was trying to coach her into getting on a rebooted Disney show. He would request her on Snapchat and shortly began sending her "numerous sexually explicit messages, images and videos." The suit says the victim is suing the sexual predator for $1.5 million.
The sexual predator has denied the actions and claim that he's being exploited by the family.
If convicted he could be labeled a TIER II in OFFENDER U.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

It appears that two candidates who weren't backed by The Squad and Bernie Bros are heading to the final selection for Democratic nominee for New York City mayor.
Warning signs to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA).
Their association to the Justice Democrats will be their doom.
Folks are getting tired of the alt-left and their "hostile takeover" of the Democratic Party. They managed to win seats in relatively safe Democratic districts but their policies and the relentless antics cost crucial swing districts. The Democrats were hoping to capitalize off their anger towards Washed Up 45 and Republicans. They hold a razor thin majority in the House and Senate.
Things aren't getting done because the Democrats can't get pass the filibuster in the Senate. The far-left is complaining about how Biden isn't doing enough. Again, some of these agitators on the left are living in states where Republicans dominate.
Maya Wiley, a progressive agitator backed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Elizabeth Warren will be eliminated.
Their policies do not suit well in states where Republicans dominate a majority.
Yeah, I have my issues with Sen. Karen Sinema (D-AZ) and Sen. Karen Manchin (D-WV), but damn these two have voted with President Joe Biden despite their opposition to ending the filibuster.
I am sick of them all. The Democrats did not vote for Sanders or Warren. They did not vote on The Green New Deal. They didn't vote on pushing for taxing billionaires and millionaires. They voted on a politicians who has common sense. A boring guy who can govern without being distracted by the noise.
And no matter how much noise is cause, he's not worried about them. He doesn't go on social media to trash his opponents. He doesn't waste his time tweeting about ratings, job approval and Americans who get on his nerves. He is pretty much a clean cut guy the extremists can't figure out.

As we await the results of the New York mayoral primaries for the Democratic Party, the Republicans have chosen a former Democrat turned white nationalist.
The race looks highly good for Eric Adams. He is looking likely to be the nominee for New York City mayor and could be the second African American to be mayor of America's largest city.
He is nine points ahead in first-choice ballots for New York’s first-ever ranked-choice election. If other ranked-choice elections in the U.S. are any guide, Adams has a 96 percent chance of emerging as the victor.
He will replace the embattled Bill de Blasio.
De Blasio can't run for mayor for a third term due to term limits.
Adams' closest opponents Maya Wiley and Kathryn Garcia are arguing the race is far from over.
The ranked-choice tallies won’t be run until this Tuesday, and that means the margins between Adams, Wiley and Garcia could get even closer.
“We’re all acting as if it’s done,” Garcia pollster Adam Rosenblatt said. “The most important piece is still missing.”

That leaves Adams, the Brooklyn borough president, in an electoral no-man’s land: preparing to become the next mayor after what many see as a pro-forma general election against Republican candidate Karen Sliwa, while also leaving open the possibility he may not be the nominee.
“We know the votes must be counted. We know there's a process. We're going to follow that process,” Adams said. “But while that process is playing out, we're going to send a signal to New Yorkers: believe.”
For the next few weeks, Adams will be simultaneously counting votes in the race he just ran, shifting his campaign to general election mode and preparing to hire a new administration. If he becomes mayor, replacing the term-limited de Blasio, Adams will be immediately tasked with quieting a surge in violence, getting 1 million public school students caught up from more than a year of remote learning and trying to get the city‘s economy back on its feet after the devastation wrought by COVID-19.
He made a push Friday to start the transition as soon as possible. Typically, a mayor-elect might wait until the general election to start planning his or her administration. Adams argued that, because of the weight of the issues facing the next mayor — and with the primary now in June instead of September — the new administration should start meeting with the old administration as soon as the Democratic nominee emerges.
“We need to engage in a conversation. We can't say, 'Let's start from scratch on Jan. 1.' That's unfair to New Yorkers,” Adams said Friday, while acknowledging other candidates should be part of that conversation with de Blasio. “I'm going to encourage him to make his commissioners available to whomever would like to sit down with them and get a real briefing on what is happening in our agencies.”
Adams‘ campaign says the candidate is trying to prepare for the litany of crises that may be waiting on the next mayor’s desk.
“The responsible thing to do for Eric now is to think ahead to the general election and how he would govern as mayor,” Adams adviser Evan Thies said. “While awaiting the process and acknowledging it’s not over, he’s still making sure he is prepared to hit the ground running.”
Adams hit the streets the day after Election Day saying his commanding lead translated into a mandate for his campaign message; one that focused heavily on reducing gun violence in low-income communities of color, where the surge in shootings has been the worst.
Adams, a Black former police captain who was beaten by cops as a teenager in Queens, was especially well suited to deliver that message while also promising to curb aggressive and abusive policing.
Opponent Andrew Yang, an early front-runner who ended up conceding on primary night, tried to take a similar tough-on-crime approach but was unable to break through in the way Adams did.
Adams is now making the case that his moderate message is one other Democrats across the country should embrace before 2022.
“Look at me and you’re seeing the future of the Democratic Party,” he said Wednesday. “If the Democratic Party fails to recognize what we did here in New York, they’re going to have a problem in the midterm elections and they’re going to have a problem in the presidential election.”
The strident message, however, may be a little premature.
Wiley, former counsel to de Blasio counsel, and Garcia, the former sanitation commissioner, are publicly arguing they might prevail after the ranked-choice tallies are run Tuesday and the absentee ballots are counted in July.
Wiley, who is Black, ran as a progressive who would be the first woman to become mayor. She promised some funding cuts to the police department and more investment in mental health and supportive housing, avoiding the same aggressive messaging about a crime wave that needs to be stopped. Wiley, currently in second place, is about 75,000 votes behind Adams and is sure to pick up more after the ranked-choice votes are counted Tuesday. So are Adams and Garcia.
“We have every reason to believe we can win this race,” Wiley said on Wednesday. “It is not over.”
The Garcia team released a memo Thursday outlining why the former city officials may actually pull ahead of Adams in first-place ballots, and ultimately prevail in ranked-choice tallies when all is said and done.
“In a lot of the districts where [absentee] ballots have been returned — these are vote-rich areas; these are areas where Kathryn is winning handily,” Rosenblatt said in an interview. “There are certainly Manhattan districts. There are Queens and Brooklyn districts in the mix as well.”
The city Board of Elections won’t count the absentees until July. But close to 200,000 absentee ballots were requested and as many as 124,000 had been returned as of Sunday.
Garcia ran as a moderate, like Adams, promising to bolster police presence and have a friendlier relationship with the business community than de Blasio, her former boss. Garcia, who is white, also could be the first woman elected mayor in New York.
She is the only candidate still in contention to run a ranked-choice strategy in the final days of her campaign, making a play for the second- and third-place ballots that will be counted Tuesday. Her team-up with Yang drew recriminations from Adams and his supporters that the pair was trying to disenfranchise Black and Latino voters, even though their cooperative approach is one of the intended goals of ranked-choice voting.
Adams has since dropped that rhetoric and said multiple times he will support whichever Democratic candidate emerges when the numbers are tallied. But should Wiley or Garcia pull ahead through a combination of ranked-choice tallies and absentee ballots, there will almost certainly be a fight.
“I don’t see him going quietly into the night,” said Christina Greer, a political science professor at Fordham University who hosts a podcast about New York. “Not after the victory laps he’s taken these last few days.“
Adams’ voters represented a somewhat unusual coalition in city electoral politics, Greer added. He dominated in working-class and lower-income outer borough areas, while more gentrified parts of Brooklyn and Queens went to Wiley, and Garcia cleaned up in Manhattan, where more white, affluent voters live.
“There’s a certain type of New Yorker who’s had a permanent seat at the table. That New Yorker didn’t vote for Eric Adams,” Greer said. “If you look at his map, it’s largely people who are ignored in these larger political discussions.”
Adams’ message sought to appeal to people who are both disproportionately targeted by police as well as disproportionately the victims of gun violence and other crimes.
“Eric Adams has been around here since I’ve been around here,” said Ken Carlton, 64, who voted for Adams in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights on Election Day. The former corrections worker, who now works for the U.S. Postal Service, ranked crime as his number one issue.
“He seems genuine,” Carlton said of Adams. “He can identify with some of the things the neighborhood is going through.”
Carlton also said he didn’t care for the new ranked-choice system: “It should be you elect one, that’s it.”
Greer echoed concerns that have been bubbling up in political conversations around the city since this past week, should Garcia prevail and those communities where Adams prevailed are left in the cold.
“The visual looks really bad that Eric Adams gets 100,000 more votes than Garcia“ on election night, she said, “and this white woman rolls into Gracie Mansion.“

The Supreme Court tossed out a court ruling on transgender Americans using public restrooms. Had the Court ruled in favor of the far-right it would goes back to the Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) which would separate transgender Americans from using public restrooms and facilities.
The Monday decision allowed a transgender student to use the bathroom that corresponded to his gender identity, a victory for the LGBTQ community that has been fearful the high court would take up the case and reverse a lower court opinion.
The case concerns the scope of Title IX that prohibits schools from discriminating "on the basis of sex." It began when Gavin Grimm, a transgender male who was then a high-school student, challenged the local school board's decision to require him to use either a unisex restroom or a restroom that corresponds to the sex, female, he was assigned at birth.
Justice Clarence Thomas and Justice Samuel Alito said they would have taken up the case for next term.
"I am glad that my years-long fight to have my school see me for who I am is over. Being forced to use the nurse's room, a private bathroom, and the girl's room was humiliating for me, and having to go to out-of-the-way bathrooms severely interfered with my education," Grimm -- who has since graduated -- said in a statement Monday.
"Trans youth deserve to use the bathroom in peace without being humiliated and stigmatized by their own school boards and elected officials," he added.
The court's decision not to review an opinion by the 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals means that public school students in the mid-Atlantic states covered by the 4th Circuit, as well as states governed by the 7th Circuit and the 11th Circuit, can use the bathroom that corresponds to their gender identity. The issue is unsettled in other states and another appeal could conceivably make its way back to the Supreme Court, although Grimm's legal fight is over.
Grimm filed suit against the board in 2015, arguing that the school's policy violated Title IX and the Equal Protection Clause. The Obama Justice Department filed a "statement of interest" accusing the board of violating Title IX. A federal appeals court deferred to the interpretation ruling in Grimm's favor. The school board appealed the decision to the Supreme Court, which agreed to take up the case.
Before the high court could rule, however, the Trump administration withdrew the Obama-era guidance, and the Supreme Court wiped away the decision by the 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals and sent the case back down for further proceedings. The case began again at the district court and ultimately the 4th Circuit again ruled in favor of Grimm, this time citing the Supreme Court's landmark decision in 2020 that held that federal employment law protects LGBTQ workers.
American man Gavin Grimm has won his case. Identifying as a transman, Grimm fought for his right to use the restroom.
Grimm began fighting the Gloucester County School Board's policies when he was a sophomore at a Virginia high school in 2015. As part of Grimm's medical treatment for severe gender dysphoria, Grimm and his mother notified school administrators of his male gender identity and received permission for Grimm to use the boys' restroom for almost two months. But once the school board began receiving complaints, it adopted a new policy denying him access to the boys' bathrooms.
In 2019, a federal judge in Virginia also ruled in favor of Grimm, telling the school board it must recognize him as male and saying the board had violated his constitutional rights. The judge awarded him one dollar in damages and told the school district to pay his court fees. The district was also told it must update his records to indicate he is male.
Steve Vladeck, CNN Supreme Court analyst and professor at the University of Texas School of Law, said Monday the high court's ruling is "an important tactical victory for transgender individuals, especially in public schools."
"The larger question, which wasn't at issue in this case, is how the Justices are going to address circumstances where accommodations based upon sexual orientation or gender identity run headlong into compelling countervailing interests, such as the protection of religious liberty," Vladeck said. "Just as in the Bostock employment discrimination ruling from last Term, leaving the decision below in this case intact kicks that question down the road."
The decision means that, for now, the high court won't wade into the culture wars on a key issue for members of the transgender community, which has faced an onslaught of attacks this year by conservative lawmakers around the country seeking to impose restrictions trans people in everything from public school athletics to access to gender-affirming health care.
The transgender bathroom debate has long been a flash point for conservatives and it was brought to the forefront during the 2020 Republican National Convention by the Rev. Billy Graham's granddaughter Cissie Graham Lynch, who told viewers that "Democrats pressured schools to allow boys to compete in girls' sports and use girls' locker rooms." And more than half the country's states have introduced more than 100 bills that aim to curb the rights of transgender people.
Last month, Tennessee's GOP governor signed into law a measure that requires public schools to make "reasonable accommodation" for a person who cannot or will not use a restroom or changing facility designated for their sex in a public school building or at a school-sponsored activity, which LGBTQ advocates said will deny trans students access to facilities that are consistent with their gender identity.
Meanwhile, advocates filed a lawsuit against Tennessee last week seeking to challenge another recently approved law that requires some businesses in the state to post signs indicating that they allow transgender and other non-binary people to use the bathroom in their establishment that matches their gender identity, a policy LGBTQ advocates say is "offensive and humiliating" for members of the community and could lead to harassment.
In December, the Supreme Court declined to take up a case from parents in Oregon who challenged a public school's policy allowing a transgender student to use the bathroom that corresponded with his gender identity. In declining to take up the petition, the justices left in place an appeals court decision earlier that year that held that the school's policy intended to "avoid discrimination and ensure the safety and well-being of transgender students."
