Kenan Thompson's show Kenan premieres tonight on NBC. The series will reflect on a widowed dad's struggles through life with two daughters, his father-in-law and brother. He hosts a morning show which he puts a spin on life and causes trouble when he goes off script.

The series is created by Thompson, Jackie Clark and David Caspe.

The series stars Thompson as Kenan Williams, a widowed father of two daughters who hosts a morning show called Mornings with Kenan in Atlanta, Georgia. The show follows Kenan's attempts to move on from his previous life, though he is met with much resistance from his father-in-law Rick and brother Gary. He also becomes close friends with the executive producer of his show, Mika.

Kenan Thompson plays Kenan Williams. Don Johnson plays Rick, Kenan's father-in-law who makes up for lost time with Kenan's own two daughters. Chris Redd plays Gary Williams, Kenan's brother and manager of his morning show. Kimire Lewis plays Mika, Kenan's executive producer who is a vulnerable friend for him. Dani Lane plays Aubrey Williams who is considered the smart daughter. Dannah Lane plays Birdie Williams who is the silly and unpredictable daughter.

The show was originally titled Saving Larry but then Saving Kenan. It was retooled to Kenan. The show was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thompson who is best known for his roles on Saturday Night Live said, "It's every comedian's dream to get their own show on a major network, especially one of the original three."

At first, I thought Kenan was considering leaving SNL. He said that he'll continue doing the show for the time being.

The show's executive producers are Lorne Michaels, Kenan Thompson, Ken Whittingham, Andrew Singer, Jackie Clarke, David Caspe, Bryan H. Tucker and Barbara Stoll.

Broadway Video and Universal Television are the production companies.

Before he joined SNL, Kenan was the original member of Nickelodeon's All That.

The sketch comedy show featured him, Kel Mitchell, Nick Cannon, Jamie Lynn Spears, Lori Beth Denberg and Amanda Bynes.

Kenan and Kel went on to host their own sitcom called Kenan & Kel. They were in the hit movie Good Burger. Kenan also went on to star in the movie Fat Albert, based off Bill Cosby's animated sitcom and comedy album.
