A true queen of television and motion pictures has passed away.
Natalie Desselle Reid passed away at the age of 53 from colon cancer. The beloved actress who had starred in films like How to be a Player, B.A.P.S., Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella has kept her cancer from the public. Only a few people knew about her health, says a family member.
She was surrounded by her family at her passing.
Her friends Holly Robinson Peete and Halle Berry offered sympathy towards Natalie

Her social media also confirmed the announcement.
“She was a bright light in this world. A Queen. An extraordinary mother and wife,” a statement said. “Her diverse career touched so many and she will be loved forever. Naturally, we are grieving and processing this profound loss and we thank you in advance for requesting our privacy at this extremely difficult time.”

Born Natalie Desselle in 1967 in Alexandria, Louisiana, the daughter of Thelma and Paul Desselle. She was a graduate of Peabody Magnet High School and Grambling State University.
She appeared in other movies like Set It Off, Gas, Divas, Madea’s Big Happy Family and Zoe Gone.
On television Natalie appeared on Family Matters, Yes, Dear, ER, Eve and For Your Love.
Natalie leaves behind her husband Leonard Reid and three children.
