Dawn Wells Passed Away!

Dawn Wells passed away.

The coronavirus has taken thousands of lives. Even well-known celebrities have suffered the fate of this deadly disease. I’m very heartbroken over the loss of actress Dawn Wells' passing.

I was an 80s kid and I had a huge crush on Wells.

Dawn Wells is best known for her role on Gilligan’s Island, the 1960s sitcom based on five sightseers, the skipper and a bumbling first mate who got stranded on a remote island.

The series lasted three seasons and was made into three television films. It was a cultural iconic show and still maintains a loyal fanbase of viewers.

Wells played Mary Anne Summers, a wholesome farm girl from Kansas who had won a sightseeing trip through a lottery.

Wells along with Bob Denver, Alan Hale, Jr., Jim Backus, Natalie Schafer, Russell Johnson and Tina Louise kept fans wondering when they will ever get off that island. Throughout the series, Dawn kept the show going with her quirkiness and beauty.

She was a very beautiful woman. Even into her 80s,

Wells was crowned Miss Nevada and represented her state in Miss America 1960 pageant in Atlantic City.

She got her acting debut in ABC’s The Roaring 20s and the movie The New Interns. She also had a role in The Joey Bishop Show, 77 Sunset Strip, The Cheyenne Show, Maverick and Bonanza.

Her breakthrough was her role on Gilligan’s Island. She managed to beat out over 350 auditioneers to get the role of Mary Anne.

She also used her voice on some television shows and animation.

Wells was working until her passing. She was the spokeswoman for MeTV whenever there’s promotions for Gilligan’s Island.

She also engaged in theatre, podcasts and cooking. She wrote books based on the show and even partner with Alan Hale, Jr. and Bob Denver on several post-Gilligan’s projects.

Wells had a great relationship with most of the castmates with the expectation of Tina Louise.

Dawn Wells was often busy. She continued acting but also wrote books, done podcasts and even appeared at Comicon conventions.

Louise held a longstanding grudge with the cast. She felt that she would be typecast as Ginger Grant and felt that her long standing career derailed. Fox’s animated sitcom Bob’s Burgers often paid homage to Tina Louise with the naming of two of the Belcher daughters being named.

Now Louise is the last surviving cast member of the show.

Dawn passed away from complications of COVID-19. Her manager told the junk food media that she passed away from the disease in Los Angeles. She was 82 years old.

Born in October 1938, Wells grew up in Reno before moving Columbia, Missouri and then back to Nevada.

She was an “It” girl back in the 1960s.

She would leave behind a step sister, Weslee Wells. She was married to Larry Rosen, a talent agent for a brief time. She had no children.

Before her death, she struggled with paying for her ranch in Idaho.

They launched a GoFundMe account to help her through her financial struggles.

It's Friday! Just found out I will be Chicago for the Hollywood Show next weekend. March 23 and 24. https://t.co/FAWVnJbEWU https://t.co/czTHKUQglE

According to the CDC, there is still not enough information on antibodies for COVID-19 and whether they can prevent someone from getting reinfected. It still recommends that people with a positive antibody test follow recommendations for protecting themselves and others.

The coronavirus doesn't care about your age, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, politics, economic or social standings. It doesn't care about anything. It's a living organism that causes mild symptoms that include: fever, sore throats, chills, respiratory issues, loss of taste or smell and other unknown symptoms. If you have a weak immune system or health issues, your risk increases.

Death does happen to at least 40% of those who are affected by COVID-19.

Healthy people can die from this. Take this seriously. You only have one life!
