A Stay Home Holiday!

Mask up this holiday.

BLACK LIVES MATTER

PROTECT BLACK WOMEN!

END SARS NOW!

HER NAME IS BREONNA TAYLOR!

WEAR A DAMN MASK! SAVE A LIFE!

BLOGGER IS TRASH!

We are wrapping up one of the worst years in the beginning of a decade.

We have a new President of the United States to take the oath of office in January.

We have the first woman of color to become the Vice President of the United States.

We have a global pandemic that has killed 4.3 million people worldwide. In the United States, the pandemic has killed over 350,000 Americans. It has infected nearly 30 million. I has a daily death rate of 5,000 a day. We have no end in sight.

We have an economic crisis in the United States. The Congress has rushed a final bill before their term concludes. The bill was expected to be signed by the current President of the United States. He backed away from it and decided to push the responsibilities to the next administration.

The final Christmas greetings from the Trumps.

We will likely have another government shutdown.

We will likely have 500,000 Americans killed from the coronavirus.

We have seen protests over police violence, quarantine restrictions, election results, systematic racism and global war.

We have seen millions of Americans lose their jobs because of the pandemic and private equity companies destroying name-brand companies.

We have seen television cancel beloved shows due to the pandemic.

We have read the stories of the thousands of Americans dying. For the first time in the 21st Century, the country’s population has declined. We have 334.3 million people.

In 26 days, Joe and Jill Biden will be in the White House.

With the census done, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Montana, Colorado, Arizona and Oregon will gain seats while Alabama, New York, Illinois, Michigan, Rhode Island, Ohio, West Virginia, Minnesota and Pennsylvania will lose seats. Republican presidential candidates will have a better chance at winning now that Texas, North Carolina, Montana and Arizona gain momentum.

Some Americans will risk their lives to travel cross state lines to see family, friends and events.

It comes at a point where the Centers for Disease Control said its best to stay home for the holidays. And if you do travel to your family’s homes, it’s best to stay light and limited.

I mean I can’t see my son in Cincinnati. It sucks. I can’t spend time with my family. It really sucks. I might have to work at my job on this Christmas day. Well I work in a business that never closes.

So again, let’s acknowledge those who never get a day off.

Police officers, fire fighters, ambulance operators, doctors, nurses, orderlies, prison guards, suicide/crisis care operators and assisted living workers.

Toll booth workers, electrical power workers, cable and satellite workers, water and sewage workers, casino workers, news reporters, park rangers and border agents.

Waffle House, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Golden Corral, Ponderosa, Perkins, Bob Evans, Domino’s and gas stations.

The President and the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard)

Again, we must acknowledge that many aren’t getting an opportunity to spend time with their families. Many may never see their loved ones ever again with this pandemic killing 10 every minute.

Christmas is really gonna be different.

Tuxedo Trumps.

When I get older, I will say to my grandchildren, I survived the 2020 pandemic. We had a president who didn’t take the threat of a deadly disease seriously.

Because of that, we elected Joseph R. Biden II and Kamala Devi Harris-Emhoff.

My son is biracial. I found out he existed on Dec. 7, 2016. He was born in August. I still deal with the PTSD from missing out my first child’s birth. There’s nothing worse than to find out you had a “surprise child” from a blind date.

It happens to the best and the worst of us.

While I don’t wish no ill on his mother, I still hope that when I meet the right woman, I can have a child with her and hopefully get my moment to be a father (for the first time).

Yeah, I know I am a father. But I want my moment to hold my child.

Onward to the Yearly Wrap-Up.
