Usually, I would offer a long version of the “What Happened To” series here on Journal de la Reyna but the recent interface has all but eliminated the way I do these tragic stories of police violence towards people of color.

Let’s get this straight, I am very frustrated with the way Google rolled out Blooger’s Interface.

It’s been a tragic sign of the times during the COVID-19 pandemic. Google employees are hearing the frustration. Because they are working from home, it’s almost impossible for them to get Blogger to work in an effective way.

Still, I am determined to move forward towards Wordpress and continue forth with the need to address the politics, the culture, the media and the community.

Two white cops shot and killed Walter Wallace in front of his family.

Google will hopefully fix this by the end of the year. But I have my doubts.

The city of Philadelphia is once again in the crosshairs of this election. The city has issued a curfew for the city after last night’s round of unrest.

The Philadelphia Police shot and killed a man wielding a knife. According to witnesses who viewed the shooting, the law shot him from a distance that was more than 10 feet.

Last night, a police officer was injured when a pickup truck rammed through a police barricade.

All of this happening in Donald J. Trump’s “Law & Order” America.

Racial tensions in Philadelphia has the city preparing for more unrest.

On Monday, 27-year old Walter Wallace, Jr., was caught on cell phone video, armed with a knife appearing to be approaching cops from a distance. The shooting took place around 4pm, as the cops were responding to a report of a man with a knife. Video on social media showed Wallace walking into the street as people yell and two police officers aim guns at him. At one point, Wallace who is several feet away from the officers in the video, walks towards them as they quickly move backward. The camera pointed down towards the ground as a dozen of shots are heard. Wallace’s mother tried desperately to stop him moments before the cops opened fire on him.

Unrest continues in Philadelphia.

Investigators said the officers were wearing body cameras which will be a part of the investigation.

Jim Kenney, the mayor of Philadelphia said that the video posted online by a witness demonstrates that “difficult questions that must be answered.” Police commissioner Danielle Outlaw promises a swift investigation into whether the actions of these cops were justified.

The Wallace family with attorney Benjamin Crump have called for the cops to be fired.

They said that Wallace was mentally ill and the police should have used non-lethal force like they’ve done on white suspects.

On Monday night, protesters marched through West Philadelphia, and video posted on social media appeared to show the cops clashing with demonstrators. There were 30 officers injured mostly by bricks and rocks that were thrown at them. Five police vehicles and one fire department vehicle were damaged. Also businesses were ransacked.

I can only imagine that white infiltrators like the Boogaloo Boys are inspiring violence.

The far-right will be more concerned about property damage than the lives lost to police violence.

White infiltrators are notorious for vandalizing property and looting businesses in an attempt to blame Black Lives Matter and undermining the calls for police reform.

The unrest is used as a scapegoat for Republicans to motivate their base to the polls.

With Pennsylvania being a crucial swing state, I can only imagine what Trump is willing to say in regards to another Black man being killed by police. He stands with the police and often sees Black Lives Matter as a “symbol of hate.”
