Family Guy hired a new voice to Cleveland Brown.
BLACK LIVES MATTER

HER NAME WAS BREONNA TAYLOR

Mike Henry voiced Cleveland for over 20 years.
Fox is moving forwards with the Fall shows despite the possibility everything could be cancelled due to COVID-19. So far their fall shows are on and America is watching.

For over 20 years, Family Guy's Mike Henry voiced many characters of color. He is a white actor, comedian and writer. He is also the co-creator of a spin-off series based off one of his main talents.

This year, Henry stepped down from the roles he's been known for playing. He will still have a place on Family Guy and the Seth MacFarlane Caravan of Comedy. But he will no longer voice Cleveland Brown, Rallo Tubbs and Consuela, the Mexican housekeeper.

"I love the character, but persons of color should play characters of color," Henry said.

Fox confirmed that Arif Zahir, a YouTube media personality will take permanent role as Cleveland.

Henry will remain the characters as Bruce the gay performance artists, Herbert the pedophile, Ernie The Chicken and other characters.

Zahir will begin voicing Cleveland and other characters at the start of Season 19.

Henry who is also a director and writer for Family Guy and American Dad has promised a smooth transition for Cleveland and other roles. Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Rich Appel are welcoming Zahir to the zany antics of Quahog, Rhode Island.
Arif Zahir will take a permanent role on Family Guy.
"I welcome Arif to the Family Guy team," Henry said. "Arif's vocal talent is obvious, but his understanding of Cleveland and his respect for the character give me confidence that he is in the right hands. I look forward to getting to know Arif and working with him to make sure Cleveland stays every bit as awesome as he has always been."

Since 1999, Family Guy has been a controversial animated sitcom. It features the Griffin family.

Seth MacFarlane voices Peter, Stewie, Brian, Quagmire and some Black characters. He will no longer portray Black characters anymore.

Henry who voiced Cleveland since the start and throughout The Cleveland Show run saw the pain many people of color faced throughout the George Floyd tragedy.
