What Happened To Maurice Gordon?

The death of Maurice Gordon has the nation talking.
BE WARNED, THERE WILL BE GRAPHIC PHOTOS AND VIDEOS.

There's another police shooting of an unarmed New Jersey Black man. This one didn't make the news like George Floyd or Rayshard Brooks. But it will be soon and we are going to see unrest in New Jersey.

Since the George Floyd tragedy, African Americans had enough. Too many times cops get away with murder. They often cite the old phrase, "fear for their lives" as a shield to use deadly force.

A 28-year old man was shot and killed by a New Jersey State Trooper in May. The state released the tragic video of the encounter. It's going to inflame tensions.

On May 23, Maurice Gordon was stopped on the Garden State Parkway in Bass River, New Jersey.

On Monday, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal released a collection of audio and video files related to Gordon's death, including the police dash cam video of the deadly confrontation between Gordon and the state trooper.

There was a 9-1-1 call from Gordon's friend the next day.

The video shows a lengthy encounter between Gordon and the officer. After having trouble with his car, Gordon, who had been stopped for allegedly speeding, opts to sit in the back of the trooper's vehicle as he awaits the tow truck. After he gets out the vehicle, he gets into a confrontation with the trooper. The trooper shoots him six times. The phone call from Gordon's friend almost foreshadows the fatal incident, as he calls the police worried about his friend's whereabouts around 27 hours before his death.
The final moments of Maurice Gordon's life.
The trooper, Sgt. Randall Wetzel stopped Gordon on the Garden State Parkway on May 23 around 6:30am. He was driving above the posted speed limit. Apparently Gordon was driving 110 mph.

That's a minor traffic violation. So the pullover happened, then he was placed into the trooper's vehicle. After sitting in the vehicle for 20 minutes, the trooper offered a mask. A confrontation ensued outside the vehicle as Gordon tried to enter the driver's seat of the police car two different times.

During the first attempt, the trooper sprayed Gordon with pepper spray. That's non-lethal force. The second attempt, the trooper tried to forcibly remove Gordon from the trooper's vehicle. Then a struggle ensued and the trooper fired his service weapon six times. Gordon was shot and motionless when the trooper placed handcuffs on him.

So after an hour or so, the EMS arrived. They couldn't save him. He died at the scene.

Grewal had released the videos and said that an investigation is underway. As part of the investigation, the state released a total of five recordings captured in 12 files of various incidents involving Gordon across about 30 hours leading up to his death.

Vox Media obtained the information as well as the 9-1-1 call from the friend.
New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal.

Gordon came to the United States from Jamaica. The friend had said Gordon was "very panicked" and told 9-1-1 that he had a "paranormal experience," and was a "law-abiding citizen" who was "doing really well."

He was pulled over earlier that night. The New Jersey State Troopers had pulled him over around 3am after he ran out of gas in Brick.

Then he was stopped in Waretown. His vehicle was disabled in the left lane of the Garden State Parkway. The state trooper called for a tow truck for Gordon and left. Surveillance footage from a Wawa in Barnegat shows Gordon was offered a ride from people who picked him up off the side of the road. Gordon was then pulled over again before his final encounter turned into a police shooting.

Gov. Phil Murphy, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and the 10 U.S. Representatives will offer their "thoughts and prayers" and "calls for a special investigation." They will do the usual "hearts going out to..." and "let's gather the facts" to deflect from the fact that a struggle between a cop and an unarmed Black man turned to a shooting.

The family said there is more footage that hasn't been released to the public and they demand it now.

Every freaking time, conservatives deflect to the "past history with police" and "what about Black on whatever crime" whenever African Americans are furious at systematic racism.

Often scapegoated into the discussions are Barack and Michelle Obama, Rev. Al Sharpton, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Benjamin Crump, the Congressional Black Caucus, rappers, Black athletes and celebrities.

They often say where are the "Black leaders when it comes to...." to claim that our silence is complicity.

We have a global pandemic that is killing 140,000 Americans. The coronavirus deaths are still happening and folks are not social distancing. We have an economic recession. With the coronavirus spreading from coast to coast, many companies are closing up for good and placing Americans out of work. They are over 45 million Americans out of work. There are thousands of Americans who are being killed by gun violence. Everyday at least 95 people died from gun violence. I can't even tell you how many stories I've missed involving gun violence in the country.

WHEN COPS SEE A BLACK MAN WITH A FIREARM REGARDLESS OF IT BEING LEGAL OR ILLEGAL, THEY AUTOMATICALLY SHOOT THE BLACK MAN. EVEN AN UNARMED BLACK MAN JUST REACHING FOR A WALLET OR A DOOR HANDLE COULD BE KILLED BY THE COPS. NOW A BLACK MAN FLEEING AN ARRESTING OFFICER COULD BE KILLED. WHETHER THEY'RE IN THEIR VEHICLE OR RUNNING FROM THEM. THE COPS WILL SHOOT THE BLACK MAN.

THE POLICE AND JUNK FOOD MEDIA TRY TO MAKE THE VICTIM, "THE BAD GUY" BY BRINGING UP HIS PAST HISTORY, HIS SOCIAL MEDIA OR HIS FAMILY LIFE.

MANY WHITES (IN LARGE GROUPS) HAVE FIREARMS IN FRONT OF POLICE AND THEY NEVER GET SHOT OR KILLED. WHY AREN'T THEY AFRAID OF THEM?

WHENEVER SOMEONE COMPLAINS ABOUT THE LACK OF BLACK FATHERS, I CONTINUE TO DENOUNCE THIS BULLSHIT. I OFTEN REMIND THEM THAT THE POLICE KILL BLACK FATHERS. THE POLICE LEAVE CHILDREN OF COLOR WITHOUT A BLACK FATHER. AND NO AMOUNT OF MONEY COULD BRING THE PEACE AND TRANQUILITY TO THE FAMILIES OF THOSE KILLED BY THE COPS.

We have unrest in the nation. African Americans and Native Americans had enough of the status quo in politics, religion, entertainment and law. The need to change started on May 25, 2020 when a cop placed his knee on the neck of an American citizen. He screamed, "I can't breathe...." and cried for his "mama."

Gov. Phil Murphy promises a swift investigation into the Maurice Gordon shooting.
No amount of criminal acts this man done justified that cop's actions. It's has frustrated me to hear folks like Candace Owens, Larry Elder, Leo Terrell, Jesse Lee Peterson, Terrence K. Williams, Kevin Jackson, Diamond & Silk and Allen West defend the actions of bad cops and white vigilantes.

I don't give a fuck about someone's past encounters with police. That doesn't justify the death of anyone.

Agitators like Jeffery Shaun King and Tariq Nasheed (pka Marcus Sanders) will exploit these tragedies for click-bait and ulterior motives. They often seek attention from their loyalists when it comes to Black pain. The controversial King is a Bernie Bro who masquerades as a Black man. He often does "calls to action" to solicit donations from unsuspecting followers. King often sics his followers on Black women and former allies to silence them from exposing his shady dealings. Nasheed (formerly K-Flex) is a rapper, singer and former actor turned "Blacktivist" who is a notorious homophobic, chauvinist and is totally anti-Black woman. He created the "coon train" as a way to point out Black severance to white nationalism.

Both are shysters and hypocrites.

You are warned to stay far away from these figures. Don't donate money to Shaun King and Tariq Nasheed.

The family of Maurice Gordon wants answers. They want the facts. Not the noise.

The status quo of the gun culture. Now is not the time to talk about gun violence!

If there were more security guards and more civilians (aka the good guy) with a gun.......

They learn how to use firearms from watching (or listening) to gangsta rap.

They watch violent movies.

They don't have fathers or mothers in their lives and it results in them committing criminal acts.

Look at his history with police....

Blah, blah, blah...

Moments of silence, street memorials, naming of public places, saying "Your heart goes out to...," lowering of flags and hashtags are platitudes. They are a huge waste of time. It's a man-made crisis created by a lazy ass government. They are enabling this. Donald J. Trump, Congress and the National Rifle Association are a bunch of lily-livered cowards. They are numb to gun violence.

The "good guy" with a firearm is the most dangerous person to have a firearm. Matter of fact, the NICE GUYS are often the ones who are spurned by society. Bad relationships, losing your job, jealousy over promotions, family feuds and racism are typical NICE GUY issues.

NICE GUYS ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS INDIVIDUALS WITH A FIREARM.

THE NICE GUY GETS SPURNED BY SOCIETY. THEY TAKE REVENGE ON SOCIETY.

RESTRAINING ORDERS ARE JUST A PIECE OF PAPER. THEY WILL NOT (I REPEAT) STOP A "MAD" INDIVIDUAL FROM OBTAINING A FIREARM.

Don't you just want to scream!?

Scream in the faces of these damn lawmakers whenever they offer their "thoughts and prayers" to every fucking mass shooting in the United States. They will offer their condolences and say a word vomit how they sympathize with the deceased. Some here will tell us that "now isn't the time to talk." Others will say that "the NRA has too much influence on gun laws."

We will talk about this for a few days and then we're off to another controversy. The next controversy would either be something done by Trump, a politician, an entertainer or we will experience another mass shooting. The next mass shooting will be even worse than the last one.

I repeat myself over and over again! I use the same old copy and paste. I hear the same trolls saying that there's nothing we can do. I keep hearing "concern" trolls telling us that it's their own fault for their own deaths. I hear the same old talking points about "good guys with guns" and "god's given rights."

Every time these folks offer "thoughts and prayers," "their condolences," "their hearts going out to," and "their apologies," they are not sincere. For every naming of a road, park, bench, building and holiday, it won't matter to the community. For every time they lower flags, offer moments of silence and candlelight vigils, we just offer "feel good-isms."

The website Officer Down is a memorial to those who were killed in the line of duty. Those who don't get their names mentioned in the junk food media. Also the website the National Gun Violence Memorial also keeps record of the many individuals killed by gun violence.

Maurice's life mattered.
We have mass shootings in the United States everyday. We are the only country in the world that continues to do nothing about this. Donald J. Trump, Congress, the National Rifle Association and agitators in the junk food media have moved on from dealing with this. They're too busy sniping over partisan blame games. With Trump being impeached while in office, he's unlikely to focus on gun violence.

Trump and lawmakers elected to federal office made politics extremely toxic. It's not just the fault of our dear leader and lawmakers, but relentless agitators on the 24/7 cable news channels. They are profiting off division and divisiveness. The internet is also a problem. It's is a breeding ground for potential mass shooters. Facebook, Twitter, Google and other social media outlets have been "ground zero" for disinformation, partisan threats and social activism. Incels and social outcasts find their outlets on sites that inspire them to cause harm to their fellow human beings.

It never happens in your community.......! Until it does! Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. A person of color killed by police or a mass shooting will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how "guns save lives." They don't. The only thing that survives a gun shooting is the gun.

FOR EVERY BAD COP, THERE WILL BE A DEAD COP!

I DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET OR THE COP'S VERSION.

GUN VIOLENCE IS THE NUMBER ONE THREAT IN THE UNITED STATES.

THERE IS NO GOD!

GOD IS NOT FIXING THIS!

Why so many Black men die when they're in police custody?

Cops are scared of Black men more than White men. They often fear Black men could get the advantage and that's why they use deadly force.
Cops have a perceived notion that Black men are violent and disorderly. They assume they have ulterior motives when they approach a Black man.
Cops just believe that Black Lives don't matter. Whenever a cop shoots a Black man whether he's armed or not, the cop will say "he feared for his life."
Cops are just doing their jobs. If Black men would comply to their orders and not give them any lip, then they might be alive today.

We haven't forgotten about the many mass shootings in the United States. COVID-19 doesn't stop individuals from picking up firearms and killing others.
