What The F*ck Is Going On In Bethel, Ohio?

Ohio village is the hub of racial unrest. 

Videos have popped up this week showing Black Lives Matter protesters being attacked by individuals in the small village of Bethel, Ohio. The village is 35 miles from Cincinnati.

It's located in Clermont County, a Republican stronghold.

Bethel's mayor had issued a curfew for the village beginning at 7pm tonight after three days of protests became unruly and there's an arrest warrant issued to four men who attacked protesters.

The Bethel Police are also under fire. They allowed two men to get the drop on two protesters.

One man served a protester. That man is facing criminal battery charges for that action.

Bethel, Ohio:

What happened this week?

Well there were some Black Lives Matter protesters in the village protesting against racism and police brutality. It riled up a local motorcycle gang and counter protesters.

About less than 100 people turned out to support Black Lives Matter and it was met with hundreds of counter protesters and armed individuals.

Protester gets served in the back of his head while police were standing nearby.

Some yelled at the protesters to leave, blocked their way when they were marching and pushing and shoving them to the ground. A man with a Confederate flag covering his face ripped up one of the protesters' signs while the crowd cheered.

People criticized the police for not controlling the crowd like they've done in Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Minneapolis and Atlanta.

Some white counter protesters were complaining about why they chose Bethel instead of Chicago.



"We just want it to stop," said Brad McCall. "We got a peaceful town. We don't want our town destroyed. Why bring it to Bethel? Why not go to Chicago? Look how many Black people are getting killed in Chicago. Black people are not getting killed in Bethel."

If this was a Black man, he would be dead right now.

Bethel is a village in Clermont County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. Bethel was founded in 1798 by Obed Denham as Denham Town, in what was then the Northwest Territory. Bethel is the home of the first movie theater in Ohio which was founded in 1908 by Aaron Little.

The local protest, a part of the larger George Floyd protests, attracted counter-protesters from outside of Bethel, including several motorcycle gangs, Back-the-Blue groups, and Second Amendment advocates. On the day of the protest, 250 motorcycles arrived and occupied the area reserved for the demonstration.
