"Democrat" Ruben Diaz, Sr. Runs For Congress!

A far-right bigot is running for Congress as a Democrat for a seat in New York City.
A right wing bigot is running for a congressional seat as a Democrat.

The New York primary is going to happen in late June. The state had cancelled its Democratic presidential primaries because of COVID-19. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Andrew Yang complained about it and filed a lawsuit to have it held. The federal courts agreed and they ordered for mail-in and in-person voting on June 23, 2020.

The New York primaries for federal representatives and state assembly are active.

Enter the race for New York's 15th U.S. Congressional District.

Rep. Jose Serrano (D-NY) is retiring due to health concerns from Parkinson's Disease. He represented most of the New York City borough of The Bronx. He served the seat since 2013.

He previously served as the 16th and 18th Congressional District representative. He has been in office since 1991.

His retirement has gotten the attention of many Democrats. One in particular is a polarizing bigot who rocks cowboy hats and has said that he'll vote for Donald J. Trump in the 2020 election.

Ruben Diaz, Sr. is a Puerto Rican born politician who is a member of the New York City Council. He currently represents the 18th district.

Diaz is a controversial Afro-Latino figure. He's a notorious bigot towards the LGBTQ community and supports anti-abortion legislation. Diaz is a Evangelical Christian.

Diaz is one of dozen or so candidates running for the seat.
Ruben Diaz, Sr. is straight up Looney Coon.
His opponents include:

Frangell Basora (Democratic)
Michael Blake (Democratic)
Patrick Delices (Conservative)
Mark Escoffery-Bay (Democratic)
Samelys Lopez (Democratic)
Melissa Mark-Viverito (Democratic)
Orlando Molina (Republican)
Chivona Newsome (Democratic)
Julio Pabon (Democratic)
Tomas Ramos (Democratic)
Ydanis Rodriguez (Democratic)
Kenneth Schaeffer (Working Families)
Marlene Tapper (Democratic)
Ritchie Torres (Democratic)

Scoring a Cook Partisan Voting Index of D+43 in 2014 rendered the district the most Democratic in the nation. Then U.S. Senator John Kerry won 90% of the vote in the 15th congressional district in 2004. In 2012, this was the district scoring the highest percentage of local votes to President Barack Obama: 96.7%. Likewise in 2016 whereby Hillary Clinton received locally a total of 93.8% of the vote.

Diaz is a former state legislator who is emerging as a front-runner in the 12-person contest, with his recognition in the community delivering an advantage in a race where progressive alternatives are fracturing the vote.

His prospects in the June 23 primary have put Democratic officials on edge. If Díaz were to win, he would create a headache for the party and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), handing an otherwise reliable Democratic seat to an apostate who would gleefully buck party leadership.

There are Democrats who voted for Donald J. Trump. There are some Democrats ones who are staunchly anti-abortion, supportive of gun rights, anti-LGBTQ and anti-Muslim. The Democratic Party must expel the bigots from their party.

The Republican Party right now is the party of white nationalism. Why have another one?
