A&E Cancels Live PD!

A&E Cancelled Live PD.

Another reality television show that covers real police encounters is cancelled. A&E cancels Dan Abram's show Live PD after the George Floyd tragedy. They also had sat on evidence of a cover-up in regards to the death of Javier Ambler.

The cancelling of Live PD was swift.

The recent shooting of Rayshard Brooks by the Atlanta Police Department has now sparked intense discussion to why Black men are often shot and killed faster than Whites. Far too many incidents where use of force is justified, many of the targets of police violence are African Americans aged between 12-55.

Abrams responded to the cancelling.

The decision to cancel came from A&E and Big Fish Entertainment, a division of MGM Entertainment.

"This is a critical time in our nation's history and we have made the decision to cease production of Live PD," said the network in a public statement. "Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments."

Paramount Network has cancelled COPS this month in the wake of protests as well.

A&E had initially gave a green light to producing a full season. They had a marathons of the show just this week before it was pulled.

Dan Abrams, Sean "Sticks" Larkin and Tom Morris, Jr. were the hosts of Live PD. They were shocked by the news.

The show was hosted by Abrams, a senior legal analysis for ABC News, Tom Morris, Jr., and Sgt. Sean "Sticks" Larkin.

Live PD follows police departments from across the country in real time as they patrol their communities. The show's executive producers were Dan Cesareo, Lucilla D'Agostino and John Zito.

The show was very well received. It pulled in 4 million viewers.

Some of the most controversial things happened in June. One was the swift firing of Roseanne Barr.

ABC had pulled Roseanne off the schedule after show's star Roseanne Barr called former Barack Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett a cross breed between Muslim terrorist and a citizen from The Planet of the Apes. Barr was fired from ABC and her show was retooled as The Conners. The show continues on into Season 3 (Season 13, Roseanne).

Barr is now a washed up celebrity who is supportive of Donald J. Trump.
