Fred Willard Passed Away!

Famed comedian Fred Willard passed away.
You favorite fatherly funnyman who played roles in This Is Spinal Tap, Anchorman, Modern Family as Phil Dunphy's father Frank and other notable acts passed away.

Fred Willard was a national treasure.

He was born in Cleveland in 1933 and was an American actor, comedian, writer, and director.

As an alumnus of The Second City comedy troupe, Willard earned a reputation for his sharp wits.

The news of his passing came from actress Jamie-Lee Curtis and her husband Christopher Guest.

"How lucky that we all got to enjoy Fred Willard's gifts" the actress tweeted.

According to his family, he died of natural causes at the age of 86-years old.






Willard's got his start doing appearances on The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson. It would give him prominence in shows like Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Fernwood 2 Night, America 2-Night and Real People.

He also became the host of the talk show, What's Hot, What's Not, which aired from 1985 to 1986 and earned him a Emmy nomination for Outstanding Talk Show Host.

He had played roles in Raising Hope, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Back to You, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, MADTv, Everyone Loves Raymond and other shows.

He was married to Mary Lovell in 1968 and has a daughter Hope. His wife Marry passed away in 2018.

Fred Willard, you were a funny man with a natural talent. You will be sorely missed.
