I'm Trying To Save Lives! Why Are You Arresting Me?

Miami doctor said the law profiled him while he was minding his business. He was trying to help treat homeless Floridians with COVID-19.

Dr. Armen Henderson was arrested after he was caught unloading supplies from his van. He was giving supplies to the homeless in Florida. That apparently got him in some deep shit.

Henderson said he may have been racially profiled by the cop.

A Florida police sergeant cuffed Henderson while he was unloading tents for the homeless from his van outside his own home.

The incident happened on Friday and was caught on a home security camera outside Henderson's Miami home.

In the video, Henderson, a doctor who works for the University of Miami Health can be seen moving to and from his white van, which is parked at the curb with the doors open.

Moments later, a police cruiser pulls up on the van.

Henderson had a brief conversation with the cop before turning away from him. The cop then exits his vehicle and approaching Henderson. The doctor would soon unhook his mask from his ears and start walking back to his home.

The cop and Henderson then had another conversation. It would soon lead to the sergeant placing zip tie handcuffs on the doctor. Henderson called out to someone.

Henderson's wife comes out and speaks to the cop. She returns inside, at which the point the sergeant removes the handcuffs and the wife shows the cop an ID.

Henderson was soon released from custody and then proceeded to picking up gardening equipment and moving towards the home.

Henderson told the Miami Herald that the sergeant had initially said he was patrolling the neighborhood because there had been complaints about people dumping in the area.

Henderson said that he told the cop he was merely unloading his van, but that he was handcuffed because he didn't show the cop an ID. The doctor said that cop was extremely rude to him.

"You should refer to me as sir, or sergeant when talking to me." - quoted Henderson about the cop.

Henderson also said that he didn to tell the sergeant he was a doctor and that he didn't swear at him.

"He just grabbed my arms and cuffed me," he said.

Henderson, a father of two told the local junk food media that he had been unloading tents from the van, ahead of taking them to the homeless population of downtown Miami when this incident happened.

He said he was in a hurry and wanted to get the van unloaded so he could be in downtown Miami by noon.

Henderson wore a mask when he was confronted by the cop. The encounter has gotten the Miami Police chief Jorge Colina's attention. He said in a video posted on social media saying that he doesn't tolerate racial profiling and harassment from any of his officers.



Colina said that sergeant stop was a part of the "litany of complaints" about illegal dumping in the neighborhood.

Henderson made the news last month when he was testing Miami's homeless for the coronavirus.

He and many doctors offered hand sanitizer, tents, food and other amenities.

"These people are the most vulnerable," Henderson said to the Miami Herald. "They're also at highest risk for getting the virus and for spreading it."

WHEN COPS SEE A BLACK MAN WITH A FIREARM REGARDLESS OF IT BEING LEGAL OR ILLEGAL, THEY AUTOMATICALLY SHOOT THE BLACK MAN. EVEN AN UNARMED BLACK MAN JUST REACHING FOR A WALLET, A DOOR HANDLE OR A NON-LETHAL ITEM COULD BE KILLED BY THE COPS.

THE POLICE AND JUNK FOOD MEDIA TRY TO MAKE THE VICTIM, "THE BAD GUY" BY BRINGING UP HIS PAST HISTORY, HIS SOCIAL MEDIA OR HIS FAMILY LIFE. 

WHENEVER SOMEONE COMPLAINS ABOUT LACK OF BLACK FATHERS, I CONTINUE TO DENOUNCE THIS BULLSHIT. I REMIND THEM THAT THE POLICE KILL BLACK FATHERS. THE POLICE LEAVE CHILDREN OF COLOR WITHOUT A BLACK FATHER AND NO AMOUNT OF MONEY COULD BRING THE PEACE AND TRANQUILITY TO THE FAMILIES OF THOSE KILLED BY THE COPS.
