شهادة مكتوبة (A Written Testimony)!

Jay Electronica's debut album A Written Testimony is out.
The long awaited debut album from Jay Electronica is out. It's worthy of a Grammy-nomination.

Jay Electronica recorded this album in 40 days, from December 2019 to February 2020, and was released on today on March 13, 2020.

The album follows the debut mixtape, Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge) in 2007. It was 13 years ago, he released the debut mixtape on Myspace and it had a foreword from Erykah Badu and Just Blaze.

Elpadaro F. Electornia Allah (previously known as Timothy Elpadaro Thedford) is an American rapper, record producer and songwriter from New Orleans. He was inspired by LL Cool J and started his rapping career at 10 years old. He is a signed act to Jay-Z's Roc Nation.

The rapper cancelled his listening party due to the coronavirus outbreak.

He said that he thanked the fans for at least taking an opportunity to listen to his debut album.

The album listing is in Arabic and translated to English.

Listen to it here.

He has features from Travis Scott and The-Dream. He also has a secret verse from Jay-Z on the album. The production is coming from Jay Electronica himself, AraabMuzik, Swizz Beatz, Hit-Boy, The Alchemist, No I.D. and Khruangbin.

Here's the verse of واما ثمر الروح فهو محبة فرح سلام طول اناة لطف صلاح ايمان

Fruits of The Spirit.

[Verse]
Uh, I snap on the track like the fingers of Thanos
Como también nosotros perdonamos
A los que nos ofenden
Is all love, all Wimbledon with the pendant
All I have in this world is my flag and my sword
I'm on a battlefield with the flag of my Lord
My shahāda is my katara
My heart shock will light up when I'm excited, that's fajr
Padre nuestro que estás en los cielo'
A heavenly father
Like Vince Staples said, we just wadin' in the water
My people out in Flint still bathin' in the slaughter
ICE out here rippin' families apart at the border
Satan struck Palestine, we at another mortar
Lies from the reporters
Ass shots and stripper poles for the eyes of my daughter, hmm
Swing low sweet chariot and my train is on schedule
But I had to take the Underground Railroad like Harriet
Weave the whole industry, every jab I've parried it
My cross I carried it
My crown of thorns to cavalry from Nazareth
The orbal was too wide to calculate the azimuth
The journey was technically unexplainable, hazardous
Rise young gods, all paths lead to Lazarus
The dry bones are lifted up from the valley of dust
The prayers of the slaves are the wings that carry us
A field full of dreams is where he tried to bury us

HipHopNMore reported that Jay Electronica tweeted a few weeks back that his debut album was done and would be out in 40 days, the world had more than enough reason to be skeptical. However, there were some signs that this time could be the time, like Hov liking the tweets.
Jay Electronica had to cancel his debut party because of the coronavirus.
Then, earlier this week, TIDAL announced that they were doing three listening parties for the album in LA, New York and New Orleans. Now, it looks like the album could be out tonight, earlier than the expected release date of March 18th.

Just a few minutes ago, Apple Music tweeted out the track for the album, now called A Written Testimony. It’s in Arabic, but fans have taken to Google translate for images to get a rough translation. You can view both Apple’s tweet and the rough translation below. Either way, it looks like Travis Scott and The-Dream appear, with Jay-Z looking likely on ‘The Shiny Suit Theory’, but unlisted. Perhaps him not being credited on there means there are more songs with him on?

A little bit about Jay Electronica. He was a member of the Five-Percent Nation, a offshoot of the Nation of Islam. The Nation of Gods and Earths was founded by Allah the Father (known as Clarence E. Smith/Clarence 13X). He had left the 5% and remained a part of the Nation of Islam.

He strongly supports the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

Jay Electronica is a vegan. He is the father of Erykah Badu's second daughter Mars Merkaba Thedford.
