Trump bestows a high honor to a divisive figure. The dying Rush Limbaugh gets the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The State Of the Union address delivered by Donald J. Trump is going to be a memorable one. For one, I did not watch it. Two, the junk food media spent a portion of their time covering the bad ass moves from Trump and House speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Trump refused to shake her hand. Pelosi ripped up the whole transcript right in front of the cameras to show the world she is pretty much done with Trump.

But the most interesting of this "reality show" was the awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom being handed off to a dying bigot.

Rush Limbaugh is a controversial figure in the junk food media. He was bestowed the highest civilian honor given to great humanitarians, writers, entertainers and journalists. He is a divisive agitator who spent over 30 years keeping America divided and constantly angry with one another.

He was given this award during the State of the Union Address to applause from Republicans and shock from Democrats and journalists alike.

Limbaugh, 69, probably discussed his cancer being terminal to Trump a week or so ago. He announced he had cancer on Monday. Trump being the "quid pro quo" type of guy decided, "Rush you'll be memorized for years to come."

"And Rush, in recognition of all you have done for our nation, the millions of people today that you speak to and that you inspire, and all of the incredible work you have done for charity, I am proud to announce tonight he will be receiving our country's highest -- you will be receiving our country's highest civilian honor, the presidential medal of freedom."

Limbaugh had done charity for leukemia. That's the only charity he has done. The rest of inspiration is demonizing his fellow Americans for a profit. Calling women sluts and whores on radio. Playing parodies of our first Black president being a "Magic Negro." Telling Black athletes to take the bone out their nose.

A man who was arrested for having unlicensed prescription drugs in his suitcase after entering the United States from the sex tourist country of the Dominican Republic.

This was a disgrace.

Yeah, he's dying. Some could feel sorry for the old fart. But however, his years of promoting bullshit on radio and previously on television should be a reminder that Limbaugh's legacy will be marred by racism.

The junk food media is obsessed with Pelosi ripping up the State of the Union address papers.

Why aren't they obsessed with a birther, racist, misogynist getting an award for doing absolutely nothing?

Washington Post agitator Jennifer Rubin denounced Trump and Limbaugh.

"I am sorry to hear talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh has cancer. Any decent person should hope he has a full recovery. His health condition, however, does not excuse a career of hate-filled racism, homophobia and misogyny, nor remotely justify giving him a high honor in the form of the Presidential Medal of Freedom."

She said it was a national disgrace to honor this "birther, racist and misogynist."

"Why not give it to David Duke?"
