Orson Bean Passed Away!

Entertainer Orson Bean died in a car accident.
Entertainer Orson Bean passed away. He died after being struck by multiple vehicles in Los Angeles.

The 91-year old was crossing the busy Venice Boulevard in front of the Pacific Resident Theatre when he was clipped by a vehicle and fell.

A second driver then struck him in what the law said was the fatal blow. Both drivers remained at the scene. Bean was crossing the street to get to the theater where his wife of 27 years, Alley Mills was performing.

The Los Angeles County Boys confirms that Bean was pronounced dead at the scene of this "traffic-related" tragedy.

Born Dallas Frederick Burrows, the entertainer was an American film, television, and stage actor, a comedian, writer and producer. He appeared frequently on televised game shows like "To Tell The Truth."

He was a favorite of "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson". He appeared on the show over 200 times.

He is known for playing Mr. Bevis in suspense show, "The Twilight Zone." In the episode, Bevis is met by a guardian angel who helps him get his life back together.

The actor was survived by his wife and four children. He was married three times. His first marriage to Jacqueline de Sibour (Rain Winslow) and had a daughter. He married Carolyn Maxwell soon after and had three children from her. His last marriage was to actress Alley Mills.

He was the father-in-law to the late far-white agitator Andrew Breitbart.

On Broadway, Bean was in the original cast of "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" in the 1950s, and received a Tony Award nomination in 1961 for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for "Subways Are for Sleeping."

His last movie part was in "The Equalizer 2" in 2018.
