Moesha Reboot In The Works!

Moesha is coming back to television. Brandy Norwood will executive produce the reboot of the hit sitcom. It was one of the few sitcoms that deal with the middle-class African American family and the plights that followed it.
The hit 1990s sitcom featuring Brandy Norwood is going to get a reboot. The R&B singer and reality television agitator confirms that Moesha reboot is in the works. The series was on UPN from 1996 until 2001.

UPN merged with The WB Network and became The CW Network.

The show has Brandy, Countess Vaughn, Marcus T. Paulk, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Shar Jackson, William Allen Young, Ray J and the late actors Yvette Wilson and Lamont Bentley. Rapper Fredro Starr of Onyx had a recurring role as Brandy's on-and-off love interest.

The show ended abruptly in season six. It left unanswered questions at the end of season six. Similar to the Lee Daniels' series Star, the networks canceled the show at a point where folks are concerned about the outcome.

It told the story of Moesha Mitchell, a teenager maneuvering through life's ups and downs and hilarious moments with her middle-class family in South Central Los Angeles. We could always count on musical guest appearances – from Mary J. Blige and Big Pun to Dru Hill – and we loved the camaraderie Moesha had with her on-screen friends, including co-star Countess Vaughn who played as Kim, and Shar Jackson.

Outside of Moesha and her TV parents, it's unclear who else will be returning from the cast or whether production has started. For years, cast members have spoken about doing a reunion. Two years ago, when The Real hosted the cast on its show and co-host Jeannie Mai asked if a reboot is a possibility, the entire cast said an enthusiastic yes!

At the end of sixth season, Moesha (Brandy) was leaving college to live with Hakeem (Bentley) and there was an unknown pregnancy test in the trash. Myles (Paulk) was kidnapped from his home by a rival of Dorian (Ray J). Also in season five, Dorian was revealed to be Frank Mitchell's (Young) son after he had an affair on Dee (Ralph).
The cast of Moesha had talked about a reboot on The Real. Now after speculation, Brandy confirms a show is in the works.
The show may finally have a solution to what happened to Myles?

While attending the 29th annual DIVA Foundation event that was hosted by Sheryl Lee Ralph, who played her stepmom Dee Mitchell on Moesha, Brandy was asked by Ralph if she’d be interested in reviving the show, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

"We would like to know, would you like to do a 'Moesha' reboot?" Ralph asked Brandy. Both ladies were on stage with William Allen Young, who played Moesha's dad, Frank Mitchell.

:"Yeah! Absolutely," Brandy said. "I'm here to solidify that we're gonna bring 'Moesha' back."

As the audience erupted into applause, Ralph told the crowd, "so you heard it right here: you will have a 'Moesha' reboot."

During season four, breakout character Kim (Vaughn) would leave the show. It was due to a controversial feud between the actresses. Brandy and Countess had a fall-out during the taping.

The series continued on without Vaughn for the next two seasons.

Countess Vaughn went on to star in the spin-off sitcom The Parkers with Mo'Nique, Yvette Wilson, Jenna von Oy, Dorien Wilson and Ken Lawson. The Parkers lasted five seasons from 1999 to 2004.
