Gabrielle Union Saw Cannon Fire At AGT Because Of Jay Leno!

Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough's firing from AGT has a backstory.
Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien and David Letterman despise Jay Leno. You can add Gabrielle Union to the list of entertainers who are a feud with Leno. She also is feuding with reality television star and panel judge Simon Cowell.

The 47-year old entertainer was fired at America's Got Talent. She was just two months into her tenure as a judge on the NBC reality television show. She got into a heated argument with Simon Cowell, the executive producer and panelist of the show.

Union, had concerns with AGT. She brought them up regular when she joined the show in February.

They were notable events. Like Cowell smoking inside the studio. There were racist incidents and critiques of contestants' genders. Union had been addressing her complaints to NBC executives, including those who overseen the show's production.
Jay Leno told an inappropriate joke and Gabrielle Union reported it. Months later they fired her out the cannon.
They said that concerns were duly noted. However, nothing happened.

Union was informed by NBC that she was fired out the cannon. Cowell dubbed her as a "difficult" act to deal with.

Celebrity agitator Love B. Scott got wind of the controversy and also a bombshell.

Union made a strong concern about Jay Leno. The veteran comedian made a racist joke.

Leno who was a guest judge at the time made a joke about a painting. He said it "looked like something on the menu at a Korean restaurant." Union pushed for AGT to not air that segment.
Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union, Simon Cowell, Julianne Hough and Terry Crews.
Union and Julianne Hough were both dropped from the show. On their way out, producers were making fun of their departure. Some producers claimed that Union was "too black."

Some sources confirm the issues. They spoke to Vulture on the condition of anonymity.

NBC Universal Television and Fremantle Entertainment said in a statement:

"America's Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talent and the acts championed by the show. The judging and host line-up has been regularly refreshed over the years and that is one of the reasons for AGT's enduring popularity. NBC and the producers take any issues on set seriously."

Cowell's smoking agitates Union's allergies.  She told the staff that she can't be around it, but the staff rebuffed her concerns.

Now the issues are coming to light and Union is threatening a lawsuit against Cowell, Freemantle and NBC over breach of contract.

Union is married to former NBA star Dwyane Wade.
