Trump Tweets Fake Video Of Pelosi!

Trump labels Pelosi "crazy."
Heard of the term "deepfake." Well if you haven't, today is the day to examine this.

This is a technique that uses human image synthesis based on artificial intelligence. It its used to combine and superimpose existing images and videos onto source images or videos using a machine learning technique called a "generative adversarial network." The technique is used to create fake celebrity videos or revenge porn. It can create malicious hoaxes and fake news.

Facebook and Twitter under fire for allowing the far-white to push a kookspiracy about Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Some far-white website posted on its Facebook feed a video of Pelosi and it gave the impression that she may be under the influence when she spoke to people.

The Washington Post quickly debunked this. Showing a drunken Pelosi in that doctored video gives the impression she was drunk or in some other way impaired. Fact-checkers flagged it as "false," a designation that earns the video a captioned warning and a reduced presence in News Feeds.

The video won't be deleted entirely because it doesn't violate community standards. Facebook will actively remove content that incites or promotes violence, which breaks the rules. The company has also shown a willingness to ban fake accounts and to de-platform problematic figures who repeatedly violate the site's rules.

Donald J. Trump even went further by publishing this nonsense on his official feed.

Trump tweeted out a separate altered video of Pelosi this week that appeared on Fox Business Network. The video, which pulls parts from Pelosi's Thursday press conference, in which she suggested Mr. Trump's staff or family should stage an intervention, is edited to heighten and highlight any verbal missteps.

"PELOSI STAMMERS THROUGH NEWS CONFERENCE," Mr. Trump tweeted, paraphrasing the headline Fox Business displayed.

Facebook said it is reducing its distribution of the Pelosi video but that it doesn't have a policy that stipulates that information you post must be true. YouTube has removed the Pelosi videos.

In 2020, the U.S. Election will be controversial. This technology will be done by political operatives, agents of a foreign government and pranksters.

Anyone could lose their jobs or their chances at winning an election because of this nonsense.
