Tim Ryan Wants To Battle!

Tim Ryan joins the large field of Democrats.
Ohio Congressman is the latest entry into a heavily crowded field. Matter of fact, how many are running?

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) is entering in the race. He will launch his bid for President of the United States in the rust belt city of Youngstown, Ohio.

Ryan made his intention known on social media before he made his appearance on The View today.

Ryan is hoping to court voters who felt that Donald J. Trump failed them.

As a nine term lawmaker, Ryan is best known for his clashes with the establishment wing of the Democratic Party. He and some of the moderate wing of Democrats led a challenge against Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for the House Speaker role.

Ryan made the decision to run after watching the GM Lordstown facility close.

"When our local GM factory was shutdown last Thanksgiving, I got a call from my daughter who was consoling her friend whose father was an auto worker and was just laid off. My daughter said to me, 'That's why I am running for president. It's time to do something.'"

Ryan is entering a race where there is no clear front runner, a whole lot of dysfunction and the potential for most of the well-known to be slaughtered by a relentless Trump campaign.

Trump has 70% chance of winning reelection.

Do you believe Tim Ryan is ready to be President of the United States? (Expect trolls to pick the dumbest answers)

Yes. Tim Ryan is from the Midwest. He has a clear understanding of how President Donald Trump's policies failed areas like Ohio. He is ready to lead.
Yes. Tim Ryan is not establishment. He is a candidate who will challenge President Donald Trump, Republicans and Democrats. He is not toxic like some of the candidates running.
No. Tim Ryan's mutiny against Nancy Pelosi, I won't support him. He is too conservative as a Democrat. We need progressive leaders to lead our party.
No. Tim Ryan is not prepared for the challenges ahead. I believe he would be a better choice as a vice president or a candidate for office other than President of the United States. He would be defeated by President Donald Trump.
I have no comment on Tim Ryan. I would like to get to know him better before I cast my vote.

There's got to be nearly 20 or more candidates running for the Democratic nomination. So many candidates and not one of them inspire people.

Ryan who represents the 13th Congressional District. A district that includes Akron, Youngstown, Lordstown, Warren and Kent.

Ryan had criticized Democrats for leaving behind the Midwest. He has often said that the Democratic Party fails at reaching out to the working class voter (i.e. white man). Trump carried Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida.

These states were carried by Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012.

He also said that Pelosi, Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) are out of touch with the trends. They are often vilified by the far-right and Trump.

Ryan who is married to Andrea Zetts. They have a son together. He is also the step-father of two of her children from a previous marriage.

With little name recognition and a somewhat squeaky clean record, it seems like he can run a campaign without scandal.

Who knows?
