The two had a married in a secret ceremony in Morocco.
He and his new wife broke the internet over the weekend. He celebrated his marriage at the Kasar Char-Bagh, a luxury hotel in Marrakech. The wedding was covered by British Vogue and the photos were published online this weekend.
The celebration lasted three days and included a "colours of the Souk" themed dinner for family and friends.
Elba, 46 dated the American model Dhowre, 29 for a few years now. The two met on the set of The Mountain Between Us in 2017. The following year, Elba suprised Dhowre by proposing to her at a film screening in London.
His career spans over 20 years but he began his his film career in 2005 with his role in American Gangster and Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.
Elba also is best known for his role on the HBO drama series The Wire where he played Stringer Bell. He also currently stars in the BBC One series Luther.
In addition to his acting work, Elba performs as a rapper and DJ. He is a known as Big Driis,
His legal name is Idrissa Akuna Elba. He was married previously to Hanne Norgaard from 1999 to 2003. He also was married to Sonya Nicole Hamlin for a brief moment. He has two children from Norgaard.
He lives in London and Atlanta.
