Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) attacked by the status quo lawmakers. She said that many lawmakers take funding for AIPAC. Now all of sudden, it's anti-Semitic to point out a fact. |
Donald J. Trump does not apologize for any of his remarks towards women, minorities, religious leaders, immigrants and those who serve as your representatives. Why should any other politician apologize for their past remarks, their past attire and their past relationships?
I guess if she was a white woman she would have gotten the ball rolling. She's not Alyssa Milano. She doesn't have a massive following like Chelesa Clinton, Charlotte Klaymor, Shannon Watts, Shannon Coulter and Kirsten Gillibrand.
She wears a hijab, a headscarf and she's an immigrant and refugee from Somalia. Oh, by the way, she's a Black woman.
I mean you have Democrats falling into the traps yet again of being labeled by those on the far-white.
These lawmakers are the status quo. They take money from lobbyist group AIPAC. They are enablers of Israeli apartheid. |
Last time I've checked, Israel is a foreign country.
How's that tax refund?
This morning, American lawmakers rushed to the cameras to condemn Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for accusations of anti-Semitic remarks.
She was criticizing the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a lobbyist group that has promoted Israeli influence in American politics. AIPAC is doing it usual "song and dance" on critics of the Boycott, Deinvestment and Sanctions (BDS).
Glenn Greenwald, a libertarian agitator who writes for The Guardian said Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) the moronic Minority Leader of the House wanted to punish Omar and Rep. Rashida Tliab (D-MI) for supporting BDS.
Greenwald remarked that McCarthy often brought up George Soros, a prominent Jewish billionaire who funds progressive causes. Soros who the far-right often demonizes face a bomb threat from a white terrorist last year. McCarthy brushed it off.
Omar had tweeted "All about the Benjamins" on social media page (she deleted later this afternoon).
She would later tweet AIPAC in her response to McCarthy. She said that Republicans (and Democrats) often take millions from the lobbyist group. As expected, the outcry came fast and furious.
Even establishment leaders like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) came out against Omar. They forced her to apologize for the tweets. Pelosi is the current House Speaker and Schumer is the current Minority Leader of the Senate.
Mind you Pelosi and Schumer take millions from AIPAC as well. They along with Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) are profiting off the Israeli lobbying organization. They are paid to look the other way when it comes to criminal activities and international violations. Americans are slowing turning against Israel.
BDS was started on college campuses and became a movement. Americans want dark money and political action committees to be removed. They want to hold the National Rifle Association and AIPAC accountable.
That's why many Democrats weren't keen on picking Pelosi and Schumer as their leaders. They are "status quo" lawmakers.
Pelosi forced Omar to apologize. Which is something of a problem for me. I don't think she should apologize for anything. I believe that Omar, Tliab, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) are the reason to why I am starting to love Democrats more.
They are women of color. They are tired of bullshit from the status quo. I am seeing that the young voters are voting against establishment lawmakers.

It's all about the Benjamins baby 🎶 https://t.co/KatcXJnZLV— Ilhan Omar (@IlhanMN) February 10, 2019
👋🏽 Chelsea - I would be happy to talk. We must call out smears from the GOP and their allies. And I believe we can do that without criticizing people for their faith.— Ilhan Omar (@IlhanMN) February 11, 2019
I look forward to building an inclusive movement for justice with you. 💪🏽 https://t.co/EGA9NQfBCi
While @GOPLeader directs islamophobic attacks at @RashidaTlaib & @IlhanMN in the name of “defending” Jews, never forget that he tweeted out antisemitic conspiracy theories about George Soros after Soros was targeted in an attempted bombing. #NotInOurNamehttps://t.co/nlnfFcy2PE— Sophie Ellman-Golan (@EgSophie) February 10, 2019
If you criticize the policies of Israel, its foreign leaders, AIPAC and lawmakers who take money from these entities, you are not anti-Semitic.
I am angry.
I am tired of Pelosi and Schumer running their mouths on issues that go against progressives. These lawmakers are protecting the status quo.
In our conversation today, Congresswoman Omar and I agreed that we must use this moment to move forward as we reject anti-Semitism in all forms. https://t.co/UpZA3DNgQs pic.twitter.com/1Z6rH65e3M— Nancy Pelosi (@SpeakerPelosi) February 11, 2019
Rep. Omar’s use of an anti-Semitic stereotype was offensive and irresponsible.— Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer) February 11, 2019
This kind of intolerance has no place in Congress—or anywhere in American society.
No one should invoke anti-Semitic tropes during policy disagreements.
They got to go.
Pressure is on. Keep up the fight to end the apartheid in Israel.
Ignore the noise. Stand up for human rights and against hatred towards woman of color.
