Longtime conservative publication The Weekly Standard will cease publication after 23 years.
The owner of the Standard, Clarity Media Group announced on Friday that the magazine will print its final issue on December 17.
Stephen Hayes, met privately with Ryan McKibben, the chairman of Clarity Media Group to announce the magazine is closing down. The media group is owned by Philip Anschutz.
It was created by neoconservative and anti-Trump activist Bill Kristol and Fred Barnes.
It was founded as the "redoubt of neoconservatism" and dubbed the "neo-con bible."
Donald J. Trump decided to dance on the grave of the publication by taking a cheap shot at Kristol.

The Standard was highly critical of Trump.
For years, The Weekly Standard published articles form prominent conservative intellectuals who offered a clear look upon American policy and global affairs.
Mind you these people claim to be intellectuals.

The Standard was very prominent during the George W. Bush era. They encouraged him to engage in the War in Afghanistan and War in Iraq.
Bush and Dick Cheney were both fans of The Weekly Standard.
The Standard was intially published by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation before being sold to Clarity in 2009.
Employees were also told to clear out their desks by the end of the day. People familiar with the matter said that the email addresses of employees were already in the process of being shut off.
The Weekly Standard thanks those who read their publication and ended the weekend with a series of tweets to remind Americans that a voice still exist.
