Barack and Michelle Obama were honored in artwork. |
I sure as hell miss the years of the first African American President of the United States. I respected him even more now that he's out of office. It's a shame that some on the right can't keep his name out their mouths. Without him, they wouldn't have became household names. I mean with an old geezer like the current idiot in charge, our nation has became more divided than ever.
Former president Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, were honored today in Washington, DC.
The former president was at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery today.
The portraits were made by Amy Sherald and Kehinde Wiley.
The legacy of class, beauty and America's future.
The portrait revealed today shows the inner beauty of both Barack and Michelle. He thanked Sherald for the work by “spectacularly capturing the grace and beauty and intelligence and charm and hotness of the woman I love."
“Kehinde Wiley and I share some things in common. Both of us had an American mother who raised us, an African father who was absent from our lives, and a search to figure out just where we fit in. I wrote a book about that journey, because I can’t paint. But I suspect a lot of Kehinde’s journey is reflected in his art.”
“I was struck by the way his portraits challenge the way we view power and privilege; the way he endows his subjects, men and women often invisible in everyday life, with a level of dignity that not only makes them visible, but commands our attention,” Obama said. The former president and first lady are well loved by most world leaders.
Most world leaders detest Donald J. Trump.
Here's an example of why we consider conservatives to be racist.

Total mediocrities.
The art of portraiture requires SKILL. pic.twitter.com/pglvFXUnQb

Wait, that Obama painting going around is real?— Mike Cernovich πΊπΈ (@Cernovich) February 12, 2018
Thought it was a (hilarious) prank.
How are people supposed to know the difference between real and fake news when stuff like this is actually happening....https://t.co/9PeVDu4wKI
This is a much more realistic depiction of Obama's portrait https://t.co/eAvpzH7SCY— Nick Short πΊπΈ (@PoliticalShort) February 12, 2018
An artist with this in his background should never have been picked. But Obama is no longer president so he can drop the act and flaunt his radical views out in the open. The key part? He knows the media won't say a thing about it. https://t.co/YFwP4B8umX— Brent Bozell (@BrentBozell) February 12, 2018

Sigh. This is why we need send the Republicans back to the minority. Trump and his allies are open about their racism.
