Averted, For Now!

Trump and Congress reach an agreement. They continue to fight despite only having two weeks to pass a long term spending bill.

The second year and we are still alive. The results of this government shutdown could impact the polls. While, Congress gets a portion of the blame, the inept leader of this country gets most of the blame.

However, we are very angry at lawmakers and the direction of the country.

The continuing resolution to fund the government until February 8th is signed into law by Donald J. Trump.

Thus ending the government shutdown, for now.

Many Americans are fed with with the way Congress handles things.

Trump and Republicans successfully painted the Democrats as the party willing to grind the country to a stop.

This shutdown is averted for now.

The Democrats decided to swallow a poison pill. They managed to get six years in the CHIP program. The back pay for government workers was also signed by Trump.

This budget battle is far from over. The Republicans and Democrats aren't thinking about the American public. They are thinking about trying to win the Midterms.
