Operation Distract And Embarrass

Congressman Darrell Issa (R-California) and Attorney General Eric Holder square off over Operation Fast & Furious.
It's only gun rights for White people, gun control for Blacks, Latinos and Muslims! Most Whites are obsessed with firearms and kill in the name of a religion or a radical cause. When you see Blacks, Hispanics/Latinos, or even Muslims with firearms, they scream gun control. The very same people who scream gun rights complain about people of color owning and using firearms. They claim its our faults for America's crime! They want control over us, but never control over them!

Over a year ago, Republicans took back control of the House of Representatives. Fueled by the Tea Party Movement, many disgruntled Republicans were energized and they were ready to throw the Democratic Party out of power. Fox News, The Drudge Report, conservative talk radio, and other outlets managed to deliver a damaging blow to the progressive agenda.

The Republicans promised to work on bringing back jobs to Americans and work with the president on issues.

It's been nothing more than a game of Russian Roulette. The Republicans abandoned their promises of bringing back jobs. They are focused on the culture war. The issues of repealing the historic health care law, abortion restrictions, voter identification laws, reciting the Constitution when presenting laws, stripping federal funding from NPR, PBS, Planned Parenthood and domestic austerity cuts are the goals of the Republican Congress.

Republicans have control of the U.S. House of Representatives and state governorships. They can pass laws that could hurt a growing economy. They are so focused on domestic austerity cuts and practically trying to disrupt the president's agenda. They have no time for compromise. The U.S. Senate is barely in control of the Democratic Party. The Democrats had 58 senators and two independents who caucused with the party giving them the super-majority in legislation. But with a few months of time, a bunch of conservative Democrats holding back progress and Republican obstructionism, the progressive agenda was defeated by conservative agitators who couldn't stand the fact a Black man is getting things done. The U.S. Senate is struggling to pass laws as well.

The House of Representatives can pass laws but it will not go through the U.S. Senate. The U.S. Senate can pass laws and the House of Representatives can bring it up in committee and it can be delayed or ran through test votes that fail. The passing of laws that go against the president's agenda face a veto. With Congress at a political stalemate and gridlock, the president can't do anything other than give temporary solutions to a growing problem. The president now invokes his executive privileges to get things done and the Republicans and their conservative allies are now upset about it.

They threaten to sue the White House over three decisions that the president used his executive privilege on.

White people are more pessimistic about the policies of President Barack Obama. Race is a major factor to why White voters are likely going to be harder to please this time. The Republicans know that and they'll rile up these people with rhetoric like "Obama's going to tax and spend, bring bigger government, take your guns, and give handouts to his brothas!"

President Barack Obama has not grown government. He hasn't spent like a drunken sailor! He has not given handouts to anyone. He's not going to take your firearms. He's not working to help his "brothas" get most of the White man's profits!

All this stuff I've said will not soak in the mind of a conservative. At this point, they're convinced that he's a "Socialist". Or he could be a Muslim. He's not a natural born citizen! His real name is Berry Soetoro. He's half Arab and Black. His real father is Frank Marshall Davis. He's getting fawning media coverage. Blacks are voting for him because of race.

The word salad of a White conservative: Reactionary statement insert Obama!

Now in 2010, U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry was gunned down by gangsters. Mexican drug smugglers used firearms they obtained from gun smugglers here in the United States. The failed Operation Fast & Furious scandal has become the latest distraction. The Republicans want to focus the economy and bring forth these scandals to embarrass the president.

This issue was put to rest when the Democrats were in control of Congress. It didn't sit well with Republican congressman Darrell Issa of California. Now that he's the chairman of House Oversight Committee he's determined to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for refusing to give the necessary documents in regards to the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) agency's handing in the matter. According to Wikipedia, the Operation Fast & Furious scandal started by a system known as "Gunwalking" or "letting guns walk." It was a tactic whereby the ATF knowingly allowed thousands of guns to be bought by suspected arms traffickers ("gunrunners") working through straw purchasers on behalf of Mexican drug cartels.

It was started from 2006 and ended in 2011. The operation lead to arrest of many members of the drug cartels but the lost of law enforcement officer Brian Terry has been the price paid for the operation.

Attorney General Eric Holder, the first Black law enforcement chief has been under fire for some time by Republicans because they think he's held back documents that may incriminate those involved in Operation Fast & Furious.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) have both openly endorse the resignation of the Attorney General. Many conservatives and gun rights activists are licking their chops hoping that this contempt vote will go through and they can remove Holder from his position.

President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party have complained that the Republicans are wasting their time on an issue that should be put to rest. Many Republicans in secret are fearing that the overreach may prove the Democrats point that the party is plotting political sabotage.

Congressman Darrell Issa (R-California) met with Attorney General Holder this week to discuss the issue of document and apparently it didn't go so well. Congressman Elliah Cummings (D-Maryland) acknowledged that Congressman Issa wasn't going to budge on this regardless of what Holder does. Even if Holder gave classified documents to Issa, the congressman would still invoke a contempt committee vote. The meeting was considered a publicity stunt. After a few hours of talking, Holder came out with the assertion that political gamesmanship is the question, not the issue of the documents being handed over.

Think Progress obtained the interview that could damage Issa's argument. Once again, Sean Hannity inserted his legal advice into a matter and its guaranteed the Republicans are following this silly conservative agitator into the abyss.

According to Think Progress, In an interview with Sean Hannity, Issa claimed that the Obama administration “made a crisis” when they continued the Bush-era gunrunning operations because they wanted to “us[e] this crisis to somehow take away or limit people’s Second Amendment rights.”

This accusation originates from a former militiaman who supports violent resistance to imagined government attempts to seize his guns. And it amounts to an accusation that a series of botched gun stings that begun during the Bush Administration were actually part of a secret Obama plot to release guns to Mexican drug lords, so that those guns could then be used to kill federal agents, which would then cause a national uprising in support of gun control.

Now you got the NRA and conservatives demanding that President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder hand over the documents. Many conservative online hope the Republicans threats of impeachment are coming! They want it and maybe the Republicans can deliver!

President Barack Obama invoked his executive privilege to prevent Holder from handing over classified documents.

The conservative are screaming at the decision and are thinking this is tyrannical.

Whatever.

If the Democratic Party comes back into power, I hope they use the opportunity to hold members of the George W. Bush Administration accountable for Hurricane Katrina, the CIA torture memos, the outing of Valerie Plame, Rupert Murdoch's NewsCorp phone hacking scandal, the firing of U.S. Attorneys for partisan reasons, and the shooting of Dick Cheney's friend. Yeah, the Democrats been soft on prosecuting Bush's former crew! This is what the Republicans want to do to President Barack Obama. How about a little gridlock from the left, please?

This is an ongoing controversy, we here at Journal de la Reyna will continue to follow this.
