John McCain is showing no love to black Republicans say some who are being left out of his campaign outreach. According to Yvonne R. Davis, a former national co-chair for African Americans for Bush, McCain's efforts to enlist black support pale in comparison to soon to be former President George Bush's.
Minus a couple of black folks seen with him on the campaign trail, you still don't see many in the room with McCain when he is meeting and greeting or standing in crowds.
What you see with McCain are packs of what Ron Heifetz in the Harvard Executive Leadership School calls older "silverback" white males. When President Bush was on the stump in 2000 and 2004, and later in the White House, African American Republicans often heard that President Bush strongly admonished his staff for inviting the same old white guys to everything.
As fellow Afrospear bloggers Jack and Jill Politics points out, come November, black Republicans may find themselves down with Obama afterall. In general, black folks are pretty slow to warm to John McCain because although he has consistently stated that he was wrong, many remember that John McCain once voted against the holiday celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King and recently voted against raising the minimum wage. And he refuses to end the war.

McCain Would Make Blacks Miss Bush
Bill Clinton says Barack Obama must 'kiss my ass' for his support
Bill Clinton is so bitter about Barack Obama's victory over his wife Hillary that he has told friends the Democratic nominee will have to beg for his wholehearted support.

Rove picks the wrong metaphor to slam Obama
Karl Rove has made it clear on multiple occasions that he actively dislikes Barack Obama — if there’s a more helpful testament to the strength of Obama’s character, it doesn’t come to mind — and he continues to make his criticisms of the Democratic candidate more and more personal.
ABC News’ Christianne Klein reports that at a breakfast with Republican insiders at the Capitol Hill Club this morning, former White House senior aide Karl Rove referred to Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, as “coolly arrogant.”
“Even if you never met him, you know this guy,” Rove said, per Christianne Klein. “He’s the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by.”
Rove said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., “needs to come right at him.” He referred to the latest Newsweek poll showing Obama with a 15-point lead over McCain as nonsense, though he used a more scatological synonym. Rove said he was heading over to the White House for lunch and a chat with the President, Klein reports.
Andrew Sullivan noted that Rove is “revealing more about his own insecurities than Obama’s.” I think that’s certainly true, but it’s worth going even further.
Promised Obama-Native event in limbo
WASHINGTON - Scheduling for an event to have Sen. Barack Obama make an appearance before several tribes and Indians has turned problematic.
Before the Illinois senator became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, he made a pledge to Kalyn Free, founder of the Indigenous Democratic Network, that he would appear at a tribally focused town hall-style meeting. Initial logistics of the agreement called on him to speak at a reservation or Indian-owned venue somewhere in the Southwest before the Democratic National Convention in August if he became his party's candidate.
Obama's verbal promise was seen as key among influential Indian political activists, and it played a factor for some Native individuals who threw their support behind his candidacy. The promise even partially influenced the decision of at least one of the four Native superdelegates who will attend the DNC to cast their votes for him. All four Native superdelegates, including Free, have verbally pledged their support to the senator from Illinois.

Obama donates, asks donors to help Clinton's debt
WASHINGTON — Barack Obama told Hillary Rodham Clinton's top financial backers Thursday that he personally has donated $2,300 to her campaign and more significantly has asked his biggest donors to help pay off her more than $20 million debt.
Obama made the announcement at a meeting with Clinton donors who have been frustrated that the Democratic presidential nominee-in-waiting had not done more to help her pay the bills even as they are expected to help fund his campaign.

Hate Crimes, More than Black and White:
http://kathmanduk2.wordpress.com/2008/06/25/racism-not-always-black-and-white/
That's so true as this nation is becoming more and more multiracial, multicultural, and mutiethnic by the hour. People who hate the changes are getting more vocal and sometimes violent. This is a must-read post by Ann. Thanks, Ann!
Ann also have another post regarding how America treats Black women who are victims of serial killers:
http://kathmanduk2.wordpress.com/2008/06/24/from-the-archives-poor-black-female-cheap-lives/
From slavery onward, Black female lives have always been expendable by the larger society, even from our own Black community. As long as people think that there are no Black serial killers, that Black women's lives worth little from the larger society, no woman is safe. Check out my older article here.

Queen Strips Mugabe of Knighthood
Queen Elizabeth II has stripped Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s strongman president for nearly 30 years, of his honorary knighthood as a “mark of revulsion” at the human rights abuses and “abject disregard” for democracy over which he has presided, the British Foreign Office announced Wednesday.
The rebuke showed the extent of international frustration over Mr. Mugabe’s insistence to go ahead with a presidential runoff on Friday, even though his sole opponent, Morgan Tsvangirai, pulled out of race on Sunday because of the persistent violence and intimidation against him, his party and their supporters.
Five Myths About the New Wiretapping Law
Sometime today, the Senate is likely to approve the most comprehensive overhaul of American surveillance law since the Watergate era. Unless you're a government lawyer, a legal scholar, a masochist, or an insomniac, chances are you haven't read the 114-page bill. Don't beat yourself up: Neither have most of the 293 House members who voted for it last week. Ditto the mainstream press, who seem to have relied chiefly on summaries provided by the same lawmakers who hadn't read it.

David Yeagley's Web of Hate
__________________________________________
from the Bad Eagle blogYeagley rather consistently denigrates our Black citizens of America. In his latest so-called "explanation," being criticized for his obsessive rants against people of color, Yeagley comes out with a totally laughable tidbit. For yeagley, it seems that nonwhite citizens do not get a seat at the American table, though he tries to sideswipe the issue with false claims. In his attempt to put forth what ‘appears to be’ an honest open dialog about Obama, Yeagley makes this laughable claim:
YEAGLEY — “Contrary to popular belief, I'm not against black people!” (June 2008).However “trite” Yeagley tries to make the negative popular criticism appear, there is much evidence pointing to an apparent ‘whites-only’ thought process in Yeagley’s ranting that justifies the negative criticism he regularly receives. One has only to look very briefly at his past statements to see the pattern of abusive mischaracterization. Here is a brief list, by no means exhaustive, compiled by the Editrix. Many more examples exist, if you have the stomach to go find and read them.
YEAGLEY — “The darkness of the Negro has always repulsed other races” (2002).YEAGLEY — “There is a tremendous drive in many white women to experiment with the darkies” (2002).YEAGLEY — “White society is literally being forced to accept the "black" body as equally sexually desirable. Any natural, psychologically negative associations with darkness, any Freudian sexual aversion, and any sense of uncleanness, must be over come by studied, determined, political effort. America is being told what is sexually attractive. America's sexual emotions are being dictated, through the media and the legal system, no less” (2004).YEAGLEY — “These days the white woman is expected to humble herself before the darkie” (2002).YEAGLEY — “What does ‘nigger’ mean? What does it refer to? When everyone says how marvellously offensive it is, no one says why. Why? ... I just think it is neurotic and preposterous to make the sky fall because somebody says ‘nigger’ ... It is ludicrous, in fact” (2006).YEAGLEY — “Slavery, properly understood, is not an evil at all. True, the 13th Amendment is known as the Amendment which abolished slavery, but that was only as a commercial institution... and it was very much in response to the hysterical rhetoric about racially-based slavery in the South. Clearly, the baby was thrown out with the bathwater” (2006).YEAGLEY — “Non-black women who bow to the black man are really, really sick. I suppose this reflects on the men of their own race, whether Indian or white. The men of a race have failed when their women get involved with other races” (2005).YEAGLEY — “The black man is invading Indian country, and too many Indians are confused. They think they have to lie down before the black man, to demonstrate their non-racist, accept-all, equality ideology. They think they have to receive the black man, sexually... This is STUPID, and very, very harmful. It is mistaken, and it has permanent consequences, which all have to live with. It is a dreadful misunderstanding of race, or honor, and of culture” (2005).YEAGLEY — “My theory is that dark men are attracted to white women. So, dark women want to look whiter. That is obvious. But the underlying question is still why? Why are dark men attracted to white women? It is all psychological. Dark is mysterious, bad, evil, even dirty. White is honest, good, clean, and heavenly. These are the archetypes. So long as Western egotism is the made the root of sexual attraction, so long as sex is a matter of personal ego, these archetypes will rule. For a dark man, sex with a white women seems higher, cleaner, nicer” (2003).YEAGLEY — “American Negroes today always think their experience in slavery was the worst... That's only because their skin is the darkest” 2006YEAGLEY — “The same people who want to remove the word ‘nigger’ want to remove ‘Christmas,’ and ‘God’ (2006).YEAGLEY — “the laws of America tend to require a non-Negro person to dutifully respect and value the Negro, regardless of any personal preference. The law thus makes a world of hypocrites, in a way, in the name of equality” (2005).YEAGLEY — “I'm tired of talking about blacks. I'm going to start shutting down some threads and banning people” (2007).YEAGLEY — “White women are dying to have sex with a dark man... It's the psycho trend in the world... I've written about this time and time again. White women feel they can ‘save’ the poor darkie by having sex with him... combined with hidden sexual perversity” (2007).YEAGLEY — “Judeo-Christian religion allowed the European Caucasian race to advance above all other people. The darker races now encroach through integration and intermarriage” (2002).YEAGLEY — “WHITE WOMEN ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, desirable creatures on earth, judging from the way dark men crave them” (2002).YEAGLEY — “And, because the girl's [the Nazi girl group ‘Prussian Blue’] father uses the swastika sign on his belt buckle, and brands his cattle with it, the girls are called racists, spreading ‘racist hate.’ I wonder. The white race has no hero? ... Perhaps the girls (and their parents) simply know that, and chose to try and ride the wave out. The girls even wear Hitler smiley t-shirts” (2005).YEAGLEY — “Superior beauty is in the white race...In the darker races, everything is always the same, dark brown and black a beastly bore” (2002).YEAGLEY — “Are we doomed to see our men run after blondes and our women lie down and be raped by Negroes? Somehow, I don't see dissing Columbus as a solution to these problems” (2006).YEAGLEY — “I do want to say, this kind of disrespect, so very typical of Indian men... and also typical of black women, together, is just the kind of thing that says these races deserve to be on the bottom of the barrel. They cannot appreciate good will, they are possessed by envy, and have no higher thought than lies” (2005).And finally this gem of a howler. Honestly, could anyone be more self-clueless?!
YEAGLEY — “I'm beginning to think there's no such thing as racism. If there is, it is very rare” (2005).

Barack Obama was right about black men
But what you really have not heard are attacks against Barack Obama's comments from many of those who attacked Bill Cosby. Now there are a few who voiced their negative opinions some blogs going as far as to say he betrayed have his race ( http://www.blackagendareport.com ) But many have not said much. You know why?
Because Barack Obama is right.
Now some may say he is just pandering to white conservatives in order to get their votes but so what if he is. His message is not any less true.
We need our black men involved in our children's lives so that black boys know how to be a good man and black girls have an idea of what a god man is.
There is no disputing the reports that children who have fathers involved in their education do better as a group. There is no disputing that these same children are less likely to end up in prison. There is no disputing that these children are less likely to grow up in poverty.
Black men we owe it to our children to make sure that they do better than we did. The true measure of a man is not how tough you are, what kind of car you have, how much money you have. It's not any of that. It's how you take care of "Yours". The true measure of a man is how you ensure your children's future.
That being said, let's not forget that the MAJORITY of black fathers do the right thing. Yeah, I know about the 70% number of black children born to single mothers but that does not equate to 70% of black men not being involved in their children's lives. That only means that they don't live with the mother.
One last point. It's just not black men that need to step up. If you have ever been to a PTA meeting or Parent/Teacher Night forget color just count the number of men that are there. I'm sure women will outnumber them at least 3 to 1 if not more. So while this is an issue that has the spotlight shining on black fathers it is not unique to them.
To all the good black fathers out there keep doing what you are doing and set the example. Although you are rarely acknowledged even by our own I just want to let you know that you are appreciated.

Obama Baby Mama
Fox News which many in the African American Community consider racist has taken it's attacks on Michelle Obama to a whole new level. On a broadcast on 06/11/08 they refereed to Michelle Obama as "Obama Baby Mama". Don't take my word for it look at the picture below on which they use the term in their on air graphic.
So much for fair and balanced. There is no way even the racist leaning Fox producers and host did not know this was wrong. I mean just dead wrong. Maybe a bunch of elitist white producers thought they were being hip or cool but calling Michelle Obama a "baby's mama" is uncalled for. Especially for what is supposed to be a professional news organization.
For those that think it's just a joke or that baby mama is a term of endearment let me define Baby's Mama.
A baby's mama is just some girl that a guy gets pregnant. Just some girl he had sex with. This person is no one he wants to be with or marry. If he had been a thinking with the right head there is no way in hell he would have gotten her pregnant. If a guy would refers to a woman as a baby's mama it shows he does not have much respect for her.
Michelle Obama is a lot more than that. She is far from any damned baby's mama. She could well be the next first lady of the United States and should be treated with the dignity and respect she has earned. She should be given the respect that ANY women should be given regardless of her place in society.
Leave it to Fox News to keep giving traction to those that believe they are anything but fair and balanced. Can anyone name another cable news outlet where this would have been accepatable?

Crooks and Liars » Joe Lieberman’s Obama Betrayal
Fox News: Michelle Obama is "Obama's Baby Mama"
HOW LOW CAN FAUX NEWS CAN GO!
An alert reader wrote in just a little while ago to let us know about something he'd spotted on Fox News Wednesday afternoon. During a segment discussing conservative attacks against Michelle Obama, the wife of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama, the network described the former as "Obama's baby mama."
I checked, and sure enough, as you can see below, our e-mailer was right. In fact, that description was displayed on-screen several times during the segment, which featured anchor Megyn Kelly and conservative blogger Michelle Malkin, an FNC contributor.
A clip of the segment in its entirety is below. You may notice that at one point, Malkin says, "By the way, it's not just Republicans who are criticizing some of her comments, but also statements have been made in the left-leaning blog Salon about her comments." I've searched the site, and I can't find anything like what Malkin is talking about. I've e-mailed Malkin asking for clarification -- if and when she responds, I'll update this post.

Americans prefer to see Black entertainers with nonblack mommas than Black mommas. This has been on my mind since Obama clinched the nomination last week. I was thinking Shirley Chisholm, Jesse Jackson, Carol Moseley Braun, Leonora Fulani, Alan Keyes, Al Sharpton, Colin Powell.
These Americans don’t want to be reminded of the fact that a lot of mixing were done before 1960s, before Loving. They ignore the past and present IRs as being progressive, esp. Black men w/nonblack women. Then, they pat themselves on the back on how progressive they are when in reality they are really not.

Are women shunning Obama? Pollster says no - On Politics - USATODAY.com
Are women a big problem for Obama? Maybe not. At least one poll shows rapid recent movement to Obama overall among Democrats, including women.
Pollster Scott Rasmussen says that as of today, based on 3,000 automated telephone surveys over the past three nights, Obama gets support from 52% of the women in his national tracking poll compared with 40% for presumptive Republican nominee John McCain. He says that's better than Democrat John Kerry did with women against President Bush in 2004."

“We have seen this before. There is dirt and lies that are circulated in e-mails and they pump them out long enough until finally you, a mainstream reporter, asks me about it,” Obama said to the McClatchy reporter during a press conference aboard his campaign plane. “That gives legs to the story. If somebody has evidence that myself or Michelle or anybody has said something inappropriate, let them do it.”
Asked whether he knew it not to be true, Obama said he had answered the question.
“Frankly, my hope is people don’t play this game,” Obama said. “It is a destructive aspect of our politics. Simply because something appears in an e-mail, that should lend it no more credence than if you heard it on the corner. Presumably the job of the press is to not to go around and spread scurrilous rumors like this until there is actually anything, an iota, of substance or evidence that would substantiate it.”

A Memo to Senator Obama
Race is a difficult subject to talk and write about. Although the blogosphere is rarely shy, mainstream journalists often tread lightly for fear of giving offense or indulging in stereotypes. Political candidates sometimes slyly play the race card, but rarely overtly. Not eager to call attention to race as an issue, the Obama campaign plays it down as a factor in the election. But if an Obama adviser were writing an honest memo to the candidate, here's how it might read:
The good news is that you have all but won the nomination. The bad news, if we are willing to face reality, is that the country—some parts of it, anyway—may not be ready to elect a black president of the United States. It is hard to get a precise fix on the problem. Voters generally deny to pollsters that race is a factor in casting their votes, but when they step into the privacy of the polling booth, their prejudices can sometimes emerge. Probably only a tiny fraction of voters are outright racist. But race is not irrelevant to many others, black or white; exit polls vary greatly by state, but show that 10 to 30 percent of primary voters considered race as they voted (if white, those voters broke overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton; if African-American, they voted for you).
NEWSWEEK pollsters recently created a "Racial Resentment Index" to measure the impact of race on the 2008 election. White voters were asked a series of 10 questions about a variety of race-related topics, including racial preferences in hiring, interracial marriage—and what they have "in common" with African-Americans. About a third of these voters scored "high" on this index; 29 percent of all white Democrats did. Overwhelmingly, these Democrats are the ones most likely to defect to John McCain in the fall. (Among "High RR" white Democratic voters, according to the new NEWSWEEK Poll, Clinton leads McCain by 77 percent to 18 percent, while you win by only 51 percent to 33 percent.) Many Democratic voters in West Virginia interviewed by a NEWSWEEK reporter on primary night, May 13, did not hide their animus toward you as a kind of exotic alien. Menina Parsons, 45, said she will not vote for Obama in the general election because "I don't think he's real. I don't think he's American."

HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTER LOSES IT! ATTACKS BARACK OBAMA !!!
An older woman from New York, supporter of Senator Clinton's campaign, who appears to have been removed from the Committee and Rules Meeting at the Democratic Delegate Conference in Washington D.C. shouts that McCain will win the White House, God Damn Democratic Party and that Barack Obama was in Inadequate Black Male and the only reason he was in the race was because a white female was running.
Old politics vs. new politics are quite obvious in this clip.
My guess is that this lady was quite well scripted and had a lot of practice and was ready to shout similar things INSIDE the meeting but was removed before she had a chance, so was forced to shout her diatribe in the lobby instead.
Guess she should have joined the Democratic Party a long time ago and participated more so she'd actually be ON the committee that would make these decisions, instead of just shouting like a over energized meeting disruptor.
